There is a New Addition to Our Family

Good Afternoon Bloggers! I want to introduce you all to the newest member of your family!
This pretty boy..who's name is undecided right now is brand new to our coop.
My husband went and picked him up from a good friend of ours who recently bought some chicks. He had wanted Hens only and in the mix was this rooster. He is only 5 months old yet he is as big as our girls already.
We have him separated from the girls right now but still in the same coop so they can see one another yet can not get to each other. We will wait a few days and then mix him in with the girls.

He was so funny when I was trying to take some pictures. It was almost like he was posing for me.
He is so much prettier in person than the pictures show. And look at his cute tail feathers. I hope they grow nice and big and fluffy!
He does not look like a baby yet he still is and when he crows it sounds like he is going through puberty. LOL! He will get that down in no time I am sure.
After watching him watch the girls and them watch him I am hoping that we have an easy introduction.
That is all I have for now...
I do have a card I made and will be posting that up next
Have a great rest of your weekend :)

Happy Birthday Cupcake---Floating Cupcake Card

Good Morning Bloggers!!
First I want to thank everyone who left me such "sweet" comments on my post yesterday. I had a GREAT time making the ice cream cake pops and sharing them with everyone. Your comments like all comments we receive really made my day....So Thanks Again!!
Today I wanted to share this birthday card I made. I recently came across this awesome blog..My Craft Spot and she did a tutorial on how she made her floating candle card. I of course had to give it a try. Mine is a floating cupcake :)
I did have to play around with the dimensions on my gypsy and once I figured it all out I was good...lots of trial and error.
The base is George and Basic Shapes welded together to measure 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. I added a rectangle cut into the middle of the base and then into the middle of the top layer. This is where my trial and error was.
The cupcake is from the Simply Charmed Cart and it was cut at 1.75 as well as all the layers. (you need 2 shadow cuts for this...one for the front and onc to cover that back). The birthday sentiment is also from simply charmed and that is cut at 2".
I stamped his face with a PKS...alittle too big for this cupcake but I still think it is cute
I added stickles to the candles, home made skittles to the corners, some bakers twine to the side and alittle stitching around the outside.
I really like how this came out!!
Hope you do too :)

I Scream..You Scream..We all Scream for Ice Cream---Cake Pops That Is :)

Hi Bloggers!
It is State Testing for the 4th grader this week and my son's teacher asked the room parents to sign up for one day to bring in a snack for the kids after they take their test.
Today was my day and I could have brought in cupcakes or brownies or cookies but I thought BORING! Why not make some more cake pops!
I had my son look through the Bakarella's book and pick out the cake pops he liked. He picked the ice cream cones.
So that I what I made.
I do have to pat myself on the back and say these came out AWESOME!
The kids in the class LOVED them, they teachers went goo-goo over them and I had wished I made 100 to give out to everyone of the teachers...sorry guys I only made 32 and 21 were accounted for.
We did give the extra's to my boy's favorite teachers this year and last year :)

I wrapped each one individually so there were no germ passing while they sat in class waiting to be eaten

The cake I used was yellow cake from Aldi's and Duncan Hines chocolate frosting.
Pink and dark chocolate wafers and m&m's for the cherries

They were such a HUGE hit!! I love how they came out and had a number of teachers ask me how to do them :)

The weather is beautiful outside today and I want to head back out. I just planted 30 strawberry plants and my sugar snap peas are starting to sprout...Love this time of year!
Off to go work on the garden some more.
Have a great night and I will see you all tomorrow

Time for Another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge :)

Good Morning Blogging Friends!
It is that time again! Another Challenge over at Whimsical Wednesday.
I was so excited about this challenge---Make a Shape Card.
I seem to be stuck in making simple A2 cards and needed the push to get my act into gear and step outside of my comfort zone. So when this challenge came up I knew exactly the "shape" I wanted my card.

I found a wine bottle SVG file awhile back..probably during my search for another file and put the idea in the back of my head. (sorry not sure of the site...I will search for it and if anyone is interested leave me a comment)
It is now time to pull out the creative idea...and take what I had pictured in my head and make it work.

I have to say I really LOVE the way this turned out! I  used the SVG file and SCAL to weld the wine bottle for the base. After cutting out the base I cut  another bottle and all the layers.
I had the stamp sentiment from a Birthday bunch by Fiskars that was perfect. I made it look like a label...placed it inside another oval stamp and added some bling with my irock.

I wanted the top of the bottle to look more like a cork so I used one! I took a piece from an extra cork board and trimmed it to mimic the shape the paper would have been.
I did have a bead ring around the bottle to look like a wine charm but I took it off and I like the way it looks better without it.
The bottle is attached with foam dots for alittle more added dimention.

Size of the card is 2 1/2" x 8 1/2". Tall and skinny :) But with plenty of room to add a nice message inside.

Well I hope you like my Shape Card and want to play along with this weeks challenge. Make sure you head over to Whimsical Wednesday's blog, check out the other DT's projects and link up your project!

Thanks for stopping by. Can't wait to see your project!

You're a real Fun-gi

Hi Blogger friends!
I have been so busy today...cleaning and sorting through the mass amount of stuff in my craft area. I have not cleaned it really well in a long time and it was much overdue!
I have gotten so much done...organized all my designer papers by brand, organized all my embellishments into their RIGHT containers :)
Put all my scrap pattern paper in one container and scrap colored paper in another container.
Cleaned up all my ribbon...I really need a ribbon carousel (hint, hint Chris..if you are reading this)
As well as made a list of upcoming projects and blog hops that I am participating in. I have lots of work to do :)
The good news with all of this is I found lots I didn't know I had, forget where they were and TONS of extras for some giveaways :)
In between all of that I made a cute male card. During my recent trip to the stamp store I found this really cute unity stamp with the "You're a real fun-gi" sentiment and a cute mushroom stamp.
I used the sentiment and will save the stamp for another project because I wanted to use an action wobble. I cut the mushroom from Simply Charmed at 3.5", the shadow at 3.75" and the matching layer at 3.5". Using my gypsy I removed the cut face and added the super cute face from PKS.  You can't see in the picture but the mushroom wobbles and I am just in love with how cute this came out! The card is pretty simple which I like and the wobble just makes it! I hope you agree :)
Don't forget to come back tomorrow to see my new DT project over at Whimsical Wednesday. I can't wait to share it!
Hope you all have a GREAT rest of your day.

A "Sweet" Birthday Card

My wonderful husband bought me some copics for Mother's Day. You ask how he knew what colors to pick..well he took a picture of the copic color chart I have hanging above my workspace and took the picture into the Stamp store to have the ladies there help him choose some colors.
He did a GREAT job picking out colors but a few I already had that you really couldn't see on the picture. I took the markers I had doubles of a went to exchange them for colors I didn't have.
While I was at the store I found this super cute strawberry stamp from Unity Stamps that matched the Jillibean Soup paper from the Chilled Strawberry Soup collection. This paper is AWESOME! It cuts nice, is thick and has beautiful patterns. I knew exactly what I was going to make when I saw it.
So this is the card I made for a friend and fellow PTO member who celebrated her birthday yesterday. She also makes the most delicious strawberry jam that we all wait for :). My son always asks when we can go visit the jam lady who sets up shop in the summertime at our local farmers market. Her jam is the only one my son and husband prefer. So Melissa...Happy Birthday and I know I told you tonight but we cant wait for your jam!
The base is Kraft card stock cut using George and Basic Shapes welded together at 4.75". The inside layer is cut from the same cartridge at 4.5". The paper is Fresh Lime Juice. (cute names right..love it)
The strawberries are stamped on red card stock and green card stock and paper pieced. Another fun technique! I added stitch lines and strawberry seeds using my white gel pen. The sentiment came with the strawberry stamp. Such a cute saying!
Hope you like my card as much as I do. Have a great night and see you all tomorrow!

MPS- Challenge #3- Card w/ Breast Cancer Theme

This is my last post for tonight.
This is challenge #3- Create a card/LO/3D with a Breast Cancer Theme for My Pink Stamper.
I make a simple shape card using Accent Essentials for the base which I welded together and a smaller same shape for the layer.
I cut the ribbon our from Stand and Salute and inked the edges of all the images with blush pigment ink. A few pink pearls around the edges also.
The paper is Making Memories- Think Pink
My sentiments are from My Pink Stamper-
Pinka-Licious.
