Red, White and Blue........{The Kraft Journal}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
This week's challenge is...
Red, White and Blue
seeing that my son will be celebrating his 10th birthday in just a few weeks I used this week's
sketch
and came up with this fun birthday card...
So here is what I did.... I started out with a Brown Kraft Cardstock base and added a mat of Peebles Let Freedom Ring pattern paper.  Using my cameo and a star file from the Silhouette store, I cut 2 stars....one using the kraft and another one using some Bazzill blue. Since there is no white in my pattern paper, I added some white gel pen doodles (wanted to make sure I was following TKJ challenge) Again since this is for my son's 10th birthday I added the number's "1" and "0" using Tim Holtz Mini Numerals and popping them up using some foam adhesive.
Moving onto the sentiment and embellishments..
I wanted my sentiment to be on some Cream Twill Tape , so I stamped The Alley Way Stamp Wish BIG birthday sentiment using  Stazon Black Ink directly onto the ribbon. Didn't it turn out awesome????? To finish my card up I added one of my favorite embellishments from The Kraft Outlet~ the Custom Fasteners. Two of the stickers that come with this set were a perfect match to my card!

So there you have it....my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet throughout my description.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT Monday!!

You are my Favorite..... {PKS Challenge Entry}

Happy Saturday Everyone!!
I have a quick card to share that I made for this week's
The Challenge was Anything Goes...but you have to use your Peachy Keen Stamps.
So here is my card...hope you like....CAS again :)
Love that coffee to go cup so I cut it 2 times, made a shadow so it stood out on my cream cardstock and instead of using the faces from the file I removed them and added my PK~146 Piles of 1" smiles
Here is a close-up of those faces....how cute are they!!!
I added some white gel pen to the eyes, chalk to the cheeks and more white gel pen freckles and then colored their noses with my copic marker.
See the his and her stitching...LOL!! I wanted to make each of them slightly different. Finally to finish them off I added a stitched heart button die from My Creative Time and so hemp twine from The Kraft Outlet
Here is a closeup of the sentiment. This one is from My Creative Time~ More of My Favorite Sayings.
I just LOVE the font and messiness of this.

Well there you have it....Hope you like it :)
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT night!!

Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop~ Day 2

Welcome to the Bunnies and Blossoms Banner Hop for Special Needs Children.

Yesterday and today (March 24-25), 30+fantastic papercrafters have come together to create Spring-themed banners. They will then donate these banners to Ellen (CardMonkey), who works as an Admissions Coordinator at Pediatric Specialty Care (PSC), www.pediatricspecialty.com.

PSC is a long-term care facility for special needs children who are medically-fragile and/or technologically-dependent. The babies, children and youths at PSC range in age from birth to 21, and are admitted from all over the country.
Some are infants, born prematurely and before their lungs have had a chance to mature. Others have serious birth defects, illnesses or injuries from accidents that cause them to need tender loving care in a home-like environment -- many for their lifetimes.

Our banners are meant to cheer the young patients, their families, and the staff at PSC. Here is the banner that I made and will be sending to Ellen to decorate a child's room:

From Our Roost~ PKS Challenge Entry

O.k  so a little change in plans....
I will be back later with my Cutting Cafe DT Post
but
I wanted to share and get my entry in for this weeks
For those of you that follow my blog...I recently shared pictures of my "Girls"
yup ....my chickens
I have received lots of questions so here are the answers...
We have had these girls for 3 1/2 years.
We started out with 16 and have 9 left :(
~due to age and sickness~
We order our chickens through the mail....yes you read that right online and they get shipped to us at 3 days old.
They hatch at the chicken hatchery and immediately get boxed up and shipped.
Since they are shipped at hours old they can survive for 3 days without food or water.
They come by USPS and I receive a phone call as soon as they arrive at the post office.
They lay beautiful and yummy eggs!!!
There is nothing and I mean nothing better that fresh eggs!!
I highly recommend if you have the chance to try fresh eggs at least once!
You can totally taste the difference!!
The best part about our girls.....they are so super friendly!
They let my boys pick them up and as you can see from the picture they will come right up to you!
Since they are at the end of their laying time we will be getting more and these girls will be moved into
a new "retirement" home to live out the rest of their lives!
They really are the best pets!
I <3 my Girls!

So that takes me back to my card.....

SuperBowl Party Invite

Hi everyone!
As you know I have been busy making Superbowl treats for our upcoming Staff Appreciation Luncheon next week.
Well good news....I had 80 to make
17 are totally completed and I have 34 almost done
I was on a roll yesterday.....cutting, cutting, cutting, inking, gluing and more cutting :)
Now I don't feel like I wont get them all done!

But another one of my projects for this upcoming luncheon was the invite that gets posted in the Teachers Lounge.
I am happy to say it is completed and hung!!
What do you think?
I used DCWV The Athletics Stack for the base
Dark Chocolate and Stampers White PTI card stock
and
Kraft card stock
for the mats
Cuttin' Up cartridge for the letters~ those all cut at 1.5"
Sports Mania for the Football~cut at 3"
(I did  add some white floss for the laces....love the way this turned out!!)

Those helmets are also from the Sports Mania Cartridge~cut at 3"
I found the Patriots Logo as a SVG cut
and the Giants Logo was one I traced into an SVG
both then cut using SCAL

My banner is from MCT~ Build a Banner Set and I also used
Cuttin' Up for the Roman Numbers

Of course I added some white gel pen doodles
Charcoal Twinery Twine
Foam Dots
and my computer generated invite wording.

Now off to make some more treats!!
Thanks for stopping by and see you all later!

Happy Birthday~ The Cutting Cafe DT Day~ Winner!!

Good Morning everyone!!
Today I am sharing my project for The Cutting Cafe and along with the rest of
the DT we are showcasing the Long Sentiment Tags file.
What a GREAT bunch of tags....
perfect for all your cards or LO pages.

~~But before I share my project I want to announce to winner of my blog candy from the Love Bugs Banners for Kids Hop~~
Using Random.org the lucky winner is.....
JUDY!!!
Congrats Judy...please email me at
eschfamily@yahoo.com with your mailing address and I will get your ribbon right out!

Now on with the show....LOL!!
For my project I used the Birthday Tag from the set and made a masculine birthday card.
I have to say I really LOVE the way this turned out!
What do you think?

So in addition to the Long Sentiment Tag file
I also used the Fun With Pockets file......
another packed file full of 14 different pockets!
I re sized my tag to 2 1/2" x  4 1/2" and printed it out on white card stock.
I colored all the wording using my copics in colors matching the DP.
I did add some white gel pen doodles to the wording because....well I have a hard time not using my gel pen :)
The DP is from Simple Stories..another fun birthday print
and it was layered on white card stock all on a Kraft Card base
The balloons were cut from the Simply Charmed Cartridge at 2 1/2".
I used foam dots to give some dimension to the red balloon and again added my gel pen doodles.
The ribbon is from American Crafts...one that I love but can not seem to find any more :(
Here is the inside of the card along with the whole tag.
I am making it another goal of mine to complete the inside of my cards as well...that way they are 100% ready to be used!
Some additional items used for this card include:
Distress ink in Gathered Twigs
eyelets
white ribbon from my stash
and
"X" stamp from Stampendous (Typewriter Alphabet)

Now for even more inspiration and to be entered to win some of your own files from The Cutting Cafe
make sure to hop over and check out the rest of the DT's projects.
