Favorite Project of 2013.....{The Kraft Journal}

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!

This week the challenge is:
Favorite Project of 2013

Wow what an awesome year it has been for me with TKJ DT. I have enjoyed being a part of and designing with the fun products that you can purchase at The Kraft Outlet. I hope I have inspired you with some of my projects.
With that being said, this is my final project as a DT member for The Kraft Journal :(
I have chosen to step down to pursue other crafty avenues and it would only be fair to my family, my blog and the DT members on this awesome team to give up some of my obligations to take on others. I value my work so much as well as the time I put into my blog that some things eventually have to be let go.

Now that all the mushy stuff is out of the way I can share one of my favorite projects of 2013, a birthday card I made for my son for the RED, WHITE and BLUE challenge.
You can see the original post HERE.
Enjoy everyone!
I started out with a Brown Kraft Cardstock base and added a mat of Peebles Let Freedom Ring pattern paper.  Using my cameo and a star file from the Silhouette store, I cut 2 stars....one using the kraft and another one using some Bazzill blue. Since there is no white in my pattern paper, I added some white gel pen doodles (wanted to make sure I was following TKJ challenge) Again since this is for my son's 10th birthday I added the number's "1" and "0" using Tim Holtz Mini Numerals and popping them up using some foam adhesive.
I wanted my sentiment to be on some Cream Twill Tape , so I stamped The Alley Way Stamp Wish BIG birthday sentiment using  Stazon Black Ink directly onto the ribbon. Didn't it turn out awesome????? To finish my card up I added one of my favorite embellishments from The Kraft Outlet~ the Custom FastenersTwo of the stickers that come with this set were a perfect match to my card!

So there you have it....my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet throughout my description.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT Monday!!

Merry Christmas Pillow Boxes.....{TKJ #151}

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!
This week the challenge is:
Something New

This is what I came up with.... Hope you like it!
I started out my project with the plain Small Kraft Pillow Boxes, and decorated them with snowflakes from PKS using white ink. That was my "something new"~ adding stamping to my otherwise plain box. You can really dress up these packages to fit any holiday or theme, with the possibilities unless! You could also emboss these boxes which would give them another totally different look. I will save that idea for another time :)
Once my boxes were dry, I filled them with some chocolate (these are gifts for my boys bus driver's) and went about with my embellishments.
Using some White Twill Tape, I wrapped them around the boxes and tied them in a bow. Before I did that though, I made the tags that are attached to each of the packages. I started out with the White X~Small Tags and stamped my sentiment from MCT~ Tiny Tag Holidays stamp set. I also added a die cut Christmas Tree, also from MCT but the All Around Holidays Stamp set. Since these would be handled by my kiddo's, I added an eyelet on each of the tags, just for some extra strength.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Holiday Gifts....{TKJ}

Good Morning and Happy Monday Everyone!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!
This week the challenge is:
Holiday Gifts

 I came up with this project.
A 12 Days till  Christmas Advent Calendar that I made for my son.
Seeing that I have 2 boys, another calendar is in the works :)
I hope you like my inspiration!
Here is how I made this...
I started out with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock  base and a file I downloaded from Lori Whitlock. Once all the pieces for the boxes were cut and assembled, I cut the corresponding pieces for the tops of the boxes, sides of the calendar and top of the calendar using some Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock and designer papers from Simple Stories.
To make the numbers for each of the boxes which will be filled for my son with some treats, I die cut the stars and circles using My Creative Time~ Build a Banner set  and stamped the numbers in the center of the circles using My Creative Time~Type Calendar stamp set.

For the next part of my project, I added a matching tag and some gorgeous ribbon for added details. To make the tag, I started with a Small Kraft Shipping Tag and added a sticker that matched my designer paper~ a Christmas Tree from the Simple Stories 12 Days of Christmas set. For the sentiment on the Christmas Tree, I added some stickers from the Chit Chat Seasonal Word Stickers.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!

This week the challenge is this sketch:
 I came up with this card. I hope you like my inspiration!
For my card I started out with a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock card base and added a layer of Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock as well as a layer of My Mind's Eye Christmas pattern paper.  Then I took some Brown Hemp from the Earthy Hemp Cord pack and wrapped it around my card mat 3 times, adhering it to the back of the mat using some tape.
For the focal point of my card, I cut 2 ovals using my cameo, one in the Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and the other in the Buff Ivory Cover Weight Cardstock. I stamped my sentiment, using My Creative Time's~ From Our Family to Yours stamp set and adding the decorative piece using a stamp from the Build a Postcard set. I added white gel pen to the "snow" on the "Noel" sentiment and then added some Diamond Stickles for some shimmer and sparkly. I also added some Red Stickles to the center of the ornament and the decorative piece....all to match the glittery pattern paper.
To further embellish my card, I took a Tiny Wooden Clothespin, added some more Red Stickles to it and when it was dry, hot glued a Cream Twill Tape bow to the center.
I attached the Tiny Wooden Clothespin to the sentiment piece, added foam pop dots to the back of the sentiment and centered it onto my card.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Thankful......{TKJ Challenge #148}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!
This week the challenge is:
So Thankful
~here is the Thanksgiving card I created~hope you like it~
I wanted to use this adorable image from Some Odd Girl for my card.
Meet Indian Tia
Now my coloring of her is not nearly as good as the SOG DT and/or Kristy does, but she sure was fun to color! Using my copics and and some stickles for the sparkle, I colored her and then set her aside to assemble my card.  I started the card using a Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock base and added layers of Graphic 45 designer paper from the Le Cirque paper pack. Once Indian Tia was dry, she was added it to another mat of the Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and more of the matching DP. To embellish my card, I added some Cream Twill Tape and just knotted it as well as placed some Custom Fasteners to the corners with some stickles to add more sparkle. For the sentiment, I used a speech bubble die from My Creative Time's Stitched Round Speech Bubbles set and a piece of the Canvas Triangle. Then using a sticker from the Chit Chat Seasonal Word pack I stuck it to the center of the speech bubble.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Happy Holiday's.....{TKJ Color Challenge}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!
This week the challenge is:
A Color one using the photo seen here
I know Thanksgiving is next week and this picture is all Thanksgiving but I wanted to take a few of these colors and make a Christmas card instead.
So using the Browns, Green, Red and Cream from the picture
and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch
 I came up with this card. I hope you like my inspiration!
I started my card out with a Brown Kraft Cover weight Card Stock and then added a layer of green cardstock and designer paper from Lilybee Design~Jingle Mistletoe. Next using my sewing machine I added a stitched border around the mats. To add some texture and following the sketch, I added a piece of Natural Burlap Ribbon around the center of the card.

Moving onto the focal point of the card. Using some E-Flute Corrugated Kraft Paper, I die cut the piece using My Creative Time~Vintage Stitched Label Die and added more cardstock and designer paper using die cuts from MCT~Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies. For the sentiment, I took a Canvas Tag, separated the layers and die cut the banner shape. Then using the sentiment from MCT~From Our Family to Yours I stamped onto the canvas using Versafine Onxy Black ink.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

FALL Banner.....{Watch us Wednesday w/ TKJ}

Good Morning everyone!
I am so happy to have my project spotlighted over at The Kraft Journal
for our Watch us Wednesday post

So for my inspiration I thought I would make a FALL Banner using products from The Kraft Outlet along with lots from my stash....Here is it, hope you like it!

(click on the pictures to make them larger)
What do you think??? I wish you could see it in person, the texture with all the fabrics and embellishments really make this one fun banner!
For my banner I started out using 4 of the Mini Canvas Triangles and die cut using wool felt from my stash the circles, letters and leaves, all using My Creative Time dies.
Below are close-ups of each of the panels....again click on them to bring them up bigger

Once all my pieces were die cut and hot glued to the canvas triangles, I took some buttons from my stash and added some Natural Hemp Cord to each of them.They were tied in double bows, with one bow snipped to add some extra pieces to the bow...looks kinda fun doesn't it???
Finally to finish my banner, I took a Memo Pin and added some words from the Chit Chat Seasonal Word Stickers. I can not get enough of that sticker set....LOL!
I did add some eyelets to the corners of the banner pieces and then threaded some thick hemp like rope through the holes....now it is all ready to hang!

 So there you have it....
my inspiration for this Watch us Wednesday.
I hope you have enjoyed my project and will play along with our current challenge.

Next using my favorite new stamps and dies from My Creative Time, I made this gorgeous rosette and added my sentiment popped up using some dimensionals.
Here is a closeup of the ornaments I made. I again used some MCT dies and then using some liquid glue from Tombow, I made my designs and then added some beautiful silver glitter glass.

Happy Halloween Witch Tag.....{TKJ}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!

This week the challenge is:
Witches and Goblins
and here is what I made....
I was inspired by a stamp that I had yet to use, that has been sitting on my desk ready to be inked up, this sweet Recollections Witch. Instead of making a card with her, I decided to made a tag that will be attached to a treat and handed out to a friend. To make this tag, I started out using a Large Manila Shipping Tag and with my ink blending tool and some Black Soot Distress ink, covered the tag. I then cut a piece of designer paper for the front of the tag and added a cute die cut spider web.For the added sentiment I used a new favorite product from The Kraft Outlet~ the Chit Chat Seasonal Word StickersThat sticker pack is FULL of great holiday sentiments! Putting the tag aside for a bit, I went about stamping and coloring up my Witch using  copic markers. To attach the Witch onto my tag, I popped her up with some foam pop dots. After adding a matching brad to the spider web, I further embellished my card with some Black Twill Tape and White Hemp Cord.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Trick or Treat....Pumpkin Gift Set......{TKJ Color Challenge}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
 The Kraft Journal!

And this week the challenge is:
 A Color Challenge
And here is my take on it.....
A few weeks ago I posted a Pumpkin Spice Creamer recipe/gift card (you can see the original post HERE) and wanted to finish another gift set to send to a friend.

I used both the colors and the picture of the pumpkins as my inspiration. I started out my card using a piece of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added my layers of pattern paper using Simple Stories~ Take a Hike paper pack. After adding my signature machine stitching border, I wrapped some Kraft Wraphia Ribbon around the mat and tied it in a simple knot. Then using a White X-Small Tag and some Chit Chat Seasonal Word Stickers added "trick or treat" to the tag.  I then went ahead and using some Brown Earthy Hemp Cord , tied the tag to the Kraft Wrapia Ribbon
To finish up my card, I die cut a scalloped circle using the Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and stamped the cute pumpkin on white cardstock for the center of the scallop.
To match my card, I made this beautiful decorated mason jar filled with the Pumpkin Spice Creamer. I used the same Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock  and designer papers, wrapped more of the Kraft Wrapia Ribbon around the lid of the jar and made a matching pumpkin tag that I tied onto the jar using some of the Brown Earthy Hemp Cord.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Halloween Chalkboard Tags .....{TKJ}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
And this week the challenge is:
Discover Something New

Such a fun challenge because I don't know about you but I am always looking for a new technique or a new tutorial that I want to try. I have a HUGE bookmarked list of all of them so I can cross one off now with my project I have to share with you today.
I have watched people post these awesome Chalkboard technique projects and wanted to give this a try. Well after watching this GREAT video over at Splitcoaststampers HERE,  these are what I came up with. I sure hope you like my Halloween tags. They were a BLAST to make and put together, so I highly recommend you all to give this a try!!!

So this is how I made them.
I started out with some blank Blackboard Tags and using some adorable Halloween stamps I picked up at Micheal's in the dollar bin last year, I heat embossed them using Creative Inspirations Paint Deliquesce White Embossing Powder. Then using a white prismacolor pencil I added some details to each of the tags around the border in a decorative pattern. Now for the fun part....I used a makeup sponge and some white pigment ink and went about giving the tags the chalkboard look. The great thing about this technique is that there is no wrong way to do it and you can add as much or as little color to the paper as you want to get the desired look. Then to finish the tags off I added some Orange Hemp Cording . I couldn't leave the tags as is, so I decorated some Small Glassine Bags with a pieces of Black and White Polka Dot Washi Tape wrapped around the base of each bag.  To attach the tags to the bags I took some Tiny Wooden Clothespinsadded more of the Black and White Polka Dot Washi Tape and clipped them onto the bags.

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!

Buttons, Bows or Bangles......{TKJ} {Post #2}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!

This is my second post for today....so if you are looking for my Trendy Twine DT project please click HERE

It is time for a new challenge over at
And this week the challenge is:
Buttons, Bows or Bangles

So for my inspiration today, I made another Halloween card...this one CAS and cute so I hope you like it!
I started my card out using a base of the Light Kraft Cover weight Cardstock and adding a layer of textured white card stock. To give my card some more detail,  I ran the mat through my sewing machine to give it a border. Using  the My Creative Time~ All Around Halloween stamp set, I took the fun sentiment and some  Walnut Stain Distress Ink and "painted" the ink onto my stamp with the brush tip side of the pen.

Putting the card aside, I started on the cute pumpkin. He is a die cut from  the Cottage Cuts Pumpkin Trio dies and after I cut him out and chalked the edges, I stamped that adorable Peachy Keen face using the PKS~Pumpkin Faces stamp set. I added some white gel pen to the eyes and more chalk to his cheeks. Finally to finish him off I added a green button from my stash and some Earthy Hemp Cord

So there you have it....
my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet throughout my description.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!
