Watch For Falling Leaves!~~ My 1st Shaker Card

Hi everyone!
Fall is in the air....woke up to it being 45 degrees and only warming to about 66.
Just last week it was 80. Guess that is what we get in Buffalo :)

I have been seeing lots of new techniques and designs around the blogging world and have written them on my to do list....
try a shaker card is on that list and I can now cross it off as having tried it :)
These are so much fun and I know I will be making more!!

Here is my card....a fall card for sure and pretty clean and simple!

Ok here are the details!!
I used this super cute Bugaboo image~ Oz Scarecrow and colored him with my copics
E30,31,33,35,37 and 47
YR23
G09 and R29

I cut several different color leaves to add to my shaker to make it look like the leaves were falling. The leaves were cut using SCAL and sized at .5"

The sentiment is from My Craft Spot~Happy Fall and was stamped on a larger leaf cut at 2.5".

The paper is from Cloud 9's Seasonal Paper Pack and I layered it on green cardstock and my kraft card base.

The shaker part is a kit I purchased which made this card sooooo easy to put together.
All I had to do was color my image, fill the shaker and attached to my base. The plastic already has glue on it.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Crafty Sprouts~Sketch (I used most of the sketch...just eliminated the center border)
My Craft Spot~ Fall Leaves
Cards Cupid~ Anything Goes
Bugaboo Stamps~ Let's Create a Scene
Icopic~Unloved Colors
The Paper Players~CAS Animals or Plants
Pile it On~ Fall Colors
The Kraft Journal: Make it Monday~~ Welcome Fall Challenge
Love to Crop~ Happy Fall

Thanks for stopping by~ make sure you come back tomorrow for a new challenge over at Cher's Studio featuring The Digi Bistro.
Have a GREAT night

Have a Fun~Shine Day w/Deacon ~~~ A few Challenges Too :)

Good Morning Bloggers!
I have another card to share today...this one using Deacon Bugs from Bugaboo Stamps.
Isn't he just the cutest?

I made this card with a few challenges in mind...
ICopic #43~ Orange and Blue
Totally Stampalicious~ 1 circle, 1 square and 1 rectangle
The Kraft Journal~ Anything Goes

Ok so for my card I used Kraft cardstock for the base of the card.
The pattern paper is from Me and My Big Ideas~ Boy Stack
The Stamp sentiment is from BugBites~ All Year Round
and the image is colored with my copics
These one to be exact :)
The one thing I did not use for this card is my white gel pen! OMG you say...
I know when the card was coming together it did just that! Came together without my pen in sight.
I almost grabbed it but thought to myself...I can do it...I can do it....WITHOUT the white doodles! LOL.
There is always next time right?!?!?

Anyways I am really loving how this turned out and I even learned a new technique...
cutting out a digital image with my SCAL program.
My fellow DT'er Melanie over at In Love with a Bug did an amazing tutorial on this and I have wanted to give it a try....well I did and I LOVE how Deacon turned out...cut in the circle shape!

So there you have it...Hope you like my card and you all

She is new to the blogging world...lets all show her some love! She has the cutest pictures of her kiddo's crafting...the before and after also...WOW :)

Before I go and make Teacher cards I want to share the cards I made for my son's Baseball Coach's
He plays for the Nationals Minor League team and they have had a really great season.
We have won some and of course lost some but overall ranked middle of the road between 22 teams.
This is the first year for alot of the players using a pitching machine and they have grown individually as well as team!
We have one more game tonight and then it is off to playoffs starting Saturday. All the teams play at least one playoff game and move on if they win.
Let's Go Nationals!!
I used some of my CKC finds for this project.
The paper is S.E.I ~I'm an Athlete
The W which is the Nationals letter was cut with SCAL
The Bat's are from the Sports Mania Cartridge
Sentiment is TPC Studio Greetings set.
I also used some red Candi's for corners. I wrote 2011 on them...I love these embellishments!
Hope they like them :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Time for Another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge :)

Good Morning Blogging Friends!
It is that time again! Another Challenge over at Whimsical Wednesday.
I was so excited about this challenge---Make a Shape Card.
I seem to be stuck in making simple A2 cards and needed the push to get my act into gear and step outside of my comfort zone. So when this challenge came up I knew exactly the "shape" I wanted my card.

I found a wine bottle SVG file awhile back..probably during my search for another file and put the idea in the back of my head. (sorry not sure of the site...I will search for it and if anyone is interested leave me a comment)
It is now time to pull out the creative idea...and take what I had pictured in my head and make it work.

I have to say I really LOVE the way this turned out! I  used the SVG file and SCAL to weld the wine bottle for the base. After cutting out the base I cut  another bottle and all the layers.
I had the stamp sentiment from a Birthday bunch by Fiskars that was perfect. I made it look like a label...placed it inside another oval stamp and added some bling with my irock.

I wanted the top of the bottle to look more like a cork so I used one! I took a piece from an extra cork board and trimmed it to mimic the shape the paper would have been.
I did have a bead ring around the bottle to look like a wine charm but I took it off and I like the way it looks better without it.
The bottle is attached with foam dots for alittle more added dimention.

Size of the card is 2 1/2" x 8 1/2". Tall and skinny :) But with plenty of room to add a nice message inside.

Well I hope you like my Shape Card and want to play along with this weeks challenge. Make sure you head over to Whimsical Wednesday's blog, check out the other DT's projects and link up your project!

Thanks for stopping by. Can't wait to see your project!

Happy Birthday Adam...Pokemon Style :)

Today is Adam's Birthday. He is now 6 and he is the son of my closest friend.
For his birthday he wanted a Pokemon Notebook to write all his secrets, battle plans and everyday 6 year old things in.
After searching the web for Pokemon SVG files I came across Mardenz blog. There are GREAT files and she did have a few Pokemon ones.
So I made him his own special notebook and matching gift bag.
This is the first time I have decorated a gift bag and I really love the way it came out!
Anyways the notebook is a composition book covered in black cardstock. I cut each of the four pokemon through SCAL as well as his name.
The book was missing something when my son told me that each of the characters stood for something....that is how the fire, water, electric and earth came to be. They are stickers and added the perfect finish to the book.

That is all I have for tonight..for some reason I am really tired and completely unmotivated to do much of anything. Have a great night and see you all tomorrow :)
