Trick or Treat...{MCT Manly Monday}

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Monday!
I am up on the My Creative Time blog today with our
Manly Monday post!
This is where we make manly projects using MCT stamps and dies!
With Halloween in just a few days I decided to make a manly halloween tag...
take a look at my project and let me know what you think!
To make my tag I used the Cute Pumpkin Tag die cut in kraft cardstock for the base. The pumpkin was then die cut in a fun pattern cardstock that I found in my stash.
I added the Pumpkin Face Die in black cardstock and layered it onto the pumpkin tag die.
I also added the green leaf die cut for some fun extra details.
For the sentiment I used the Too Cute to Spook stamp set and stamped the Trick or Treat onto the Micro Tag Die. The sentiment is a perfect fit for the tag and was then added to the pumpkin tag with some hemp twine.
To finish off my tag I added more brown hemp twine to the tag topper making my tag ready to attach to a sweet Halloween treat!

So lets get started with Day 1!
Today the DT is showcasing this releases FREEBIE, the adorable

and here is my project using this die....
Totally sweet new pumpkin face die that is a must have for Halloween!
I used the new die to make a Halloween Milk Carton treat, perfect for those trick or treaters, classroom parties or just to decorate the house.
To make treat, I used some designer paper from my stash and the Milk Carton Die for the box.
The new pumpkin face die was cut using black cardstock and then popped up onto the front of the milk carton.
For the sentiment, I used the BOO from Too Cute to Spook and stamped it onto the tag die from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies set.
I added a die cut leaf to the top of the box, closed the milk carton off with some brown twine and added a mini clothes pin to the top for the stem.
*Don't forget to fill your milk carton before closing it all up*

Boo!.....{MCT Tag It Tuesday}

Good Morning Everyone and
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!

I hope everyone's kiddo's have a GREAT time Trick or Treating tonight.
My boys are past the age that they want to head out and get candy, especially since tonight is a school night as well there is homework to be done I am sure.

Anyways I am sharing a project for todays
Tag it Tuesday with My Creative Time!
Take a look at my tags and let me know what you think....
Spooky fun and totally adorable right?
To make these tags, I started with the Just Tags Dies and cut them out with black and orange designer paper.
The sentiment "BOO" is from the Boo! Die  in which I did add some white gel pen dots.
Finally that adorable ghost is from the Too Cute To Spook set. I did add some google eyes to the ghost for some extra cuteness!
I finished my tags off with some Trendy Twine in Totally Black, Totally Orange and Totally White.

Well that it all I have to share :)

Fun with Stencils.....{MCT Tutorial Thursday}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another
My Creative Time Tutorial Thursday!!!
I shared a card  here on Monday for MCT's Manly Monday post showing a fun technique using handmade stencils with MCT dies.
I promised to share a tutorial on how I made that card but instead of reproducing that card, I used the same technique and made 2 different mini cards....
Take a look at my finished projects...
And here is how I made the black and white spider web mini!
I gathered my supplies~
and Black Soot Distress Ink
I die cut the spider web out onto a piece of acetate. Loving the details that this die has it makes for a perfect stencil!
Using my ink blending tool and holding onto the stencil, I dabbed and blended and rubbed the tool over the stencil, starting from the center and working out until I got the right look I was going for.  As I blended out I let the ink lighten which gives it the look of a spray painted piece
Once the stencil was pulled off giving the desired look, I re-positioned it onto the other corner and inked it up the exact same way.
To finish my mini card, I stamped my sentiment, added that cutie spider and attached the whole white panel to the front of my Just a Note die cut.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did the same technique for my pumpkin card, just changing up the die stencil to use the pumpkin and leaf from the Gobble Gobble set
 Adding  Carved Pumpkin and Mowed Lawn Distress ink
and a bit of  Gathered Twigs Distress ink as well!
When I went to add color for the leaf, I used the actual pumpkin die, the inside of my stencil to cover up the pumpkin so I could contain where the Mowed Lawn Distress Ink went. I wanted to add the color only to the leaf part~not the stem and I didnt want it to over lap the pumpkin
I add the panel to the Just a Note die, stamped my sentiment, and my mini was complete!!
The best part of making these stencils~ you can use them over and over again!!!!
Well I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and will give this technique a try!
I know the inspiration is AWESOME!!!!
This set will be on sale for the entire month of September! The sale will end on September 30th @ 12:00am PST!
Here is the Halloween card I made using the Lets Celebrate stamp set plus some of the recently releases stamps and dies...can you pick out the newbies????
To make my card I started with a kraft cardstock base, added a layer of black cardstock then using the largest of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies added a layer of designer paper.
For the focal point of my card I used the newly released Stitched Belly Band Dies for my sentiment. I mixed 2 different stamp sets to make one sentiment....the "it's" and the "party time" are from the Let's Celebrate set and the "halloween" is from the new Happy Everything set. In keeping with the color combo theme of orange, black and white, I added some white gel pen to the "party" sentiment....looks like lights doesn't it?
To finish up my card I added the adorable ghost stamp/die from the Too Cute to Spook set. I just love that cutie face!!!
Some May Arts black ribbon, a black clothes pin and some random enamel dots and this card is completed!
Boo! MCT Flash Friday Blog Hop & Sale
Good Morning and Happy Friday everyone!!!!
Miss Emma has a special treat for everyone this weekend!! A SWEET sale (all the details are listed below) and a fun Mini Blog Hop showcasing this weekend's FREEBIE die
"Boo"
You should be coming from the very talented
Emily
if not you can always head on back to the
My Creative Time
blog to start hopping!
For my project I made a shaker card! I LOVE making them and I just can not get enough of that adorable Ghost stamp/die from the Too Cute to Spook set! To make my card I started out with a piece of orange cardstock for my card base then layered a piece of black topped with a white piece die cut using the largest Stitched Rectangular Frame Die. I wanted to add some color to white cardstock so I used some orange spritz and some black color shine. Just enough to get inky and to take away the white white of the cardstock.
Next using the ghost die, I die cut him into the center of my cardstock. I layered a piece of acetate to cover the cut out and filled him with some sequins. To seal him up, I backed him with a small piece of vellum. I couldn't help but add some more cute googly eyes.....(these were sitting on my desk left over from my last project that you can see HERE)
Using that oh so cutie "Boo" die, I cut him in some black cardstock as well as some fun foam so I could pop him up under my ghost. To flow with the rest of the card I colored the "boo" with my Wink of Stella for some extra shimmer and shine. To then finish my card off, I tied some Totally Orange Trendy Twine  around the top of my card and added another sentiment. The tag is from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies set and the sentiment is part of the Too Cute To Spook new release set
