My son's teacher who also happens to be a good friend outside of school just got a puppy. She was so excited about this puppy and telling me all about how her girls were loving this puppy that I knew I had to make a card congratulating her on her new addition to the family. I haven't used the Four-Legged Friends cartridge very much (I think this was a black Friday walmart special this year that I picked up for cheap) so I pulled it out and found a similar cut to her dog. He was cut at 4" and the puppy love tag was cut at 2".
I was at Michael's today and picked up a 180 page stack of paper (KI Memories) so all the paper used is from that stack.
I'm not very good with the camera so my colors look off and the picture looks lopsided but I think you can get the idea. :)
And for great news...I got 3 blogger awards which I will post tomorrow! I was so excited to see them. It's always nice to get 1 but 3?!?! Makes my day :)
Also got a Challenge Top 3 from Claudia & Company's Recipe Challenge.
Thanks for stopping by
Until Tomorrow.....:)

Black or White? Happy Birthday Casey!
It's my son's 10th birthday today! It is so hard to believe that he is 10 already...the time has flown by!
For his birthday he REALLY wants the Pokemom Black video game...yes he is a big pokemon fan so when I went to get the game for his DS, guess what? it doesn't come out until March 6th. Bummer for both me and him. I preordered it for him so he is super excited that we get to pick it up next week and he can be one of the first of his friends to get it. I also made this matchbox for him to celebrate the Pokemon release. We put some money in it for him and I think he was more impressed with the box than the money :) Makes me happy! He thanked me a number of times for making it for him. I just love it when I get that kind of response!
(For those of you reading this and are unfamiliar with Pokemon, there is a Pokemon Black and a Pokemon White game coming out...the black version gives you a white legendary guy and the white version gives you a black legendary guy)

I am so excited to invite you to hop with us for Claudia and Company's first ever Customer Blog Hop! And my 1st ever Blog Hop! I am so excited to be a part of this!
Today Claudia and Company is celebrating all of US; their dear friends and customers and that includes YOU!
If you’ve just joined the fun, be sure to pop over to the Claudia and Company Blog to start the hop and get all the deets!
This is my addition to the "hop"! A super cute "hoppy" birthday card with the ever so Sweet Froggy digi stamp. I dont work much with digi stamps..I know alot of you do..so I went searching to see how people use their stamps. I ended up just cutting him out..coloring him with my bic markers (not copic addicted yet..LOL) and pop dotted him up. I cut the flower out as well and added some yellow stickles to the pedals and green for the leaves and grass. A little inking around the outside of the paper..which is DCWV "The Songbird" stack and some eyelets in the corners.
Be sure and leave a comment on each of today’s fabulous posts to be eligible for the prizes that are up for grabs! You'll have until Monday, February 28, 12pm EST to comment. Winners will be announced on March 1, during their Release Day Showcase.
Here is the complete list of stops on the Hop! Thanks for joining us and happy hopping!

Whimsical Wednesday Guest Designer :)
I am so excited that Stephanie over at Always Crafting has asked me to be a guest designer for this week's Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. Being so new to the blogging world her blog was one of the first I began following. Her work is truly amazing so go and check out all the wonderful and creative projects she has to share.!
This week she is calling it "I'm So Stressed Out!" I know we all have those kind of days....right?!?! For this challenge she wants any type of project but it has to include some distressing in it. This can include but is not limited to inking, tearing paper or whatever other kind of distressing technique you want to use. I have not tried any of these yet so I blog searched for ideas, googled distressing and everything came back to the ever famous Tim Holtz! Again I had not one item of his so off to Michael's I went (just an excuse to scrapbook shop) for some distressing ink. I came home with the ink as well as some paper stash in Retro Grunge. I knew I wanted to make something other than a card or layout and I had an Altoids container waiting to be altered so this is my "I'm So Stressed Out" project.
I used the paper and covered the front, back, sides and inside..distressing the edges with Vintage Photo, Frayed Burlap and Peeled Paint Distress ink. I also tore a piece of paper, crumpled it and then layed it flat and inked. We just recently got a new phone book and it wass sitting in our recycle bin..does anyone use a phone book anymore?!...I took out a page of the white pages and cut 3 flowers at 2" from the Pagoda Cartridge. I crumpled them up, inked the edges and used my hot glue gun to attach to the tin. The pewter tiles are Making Memories alphabet charm that I hot glued also and inked as well. The butterfly was a charm I had in my stash.
So now it is your turn! Head over to Always Crafting and show us how you can distress. I can't wait to see what you come up with! I think distressing is my new favorite :)! You will also want to stop and visit Margie at Bella Bug Creations for some more inspiration. She has an amazing blog as well!
Thanks for stopping by and I would LOVE it if you become a follower here at Chick-n-scrap :)

It's Your Birthday!
Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I can't believe that the day is almost over and we are almost to hump day!
My son's birthday is on Sunday and I originally made the Robot card for him that I posted last week. I showed it to him when I finished it and he loved it...but said "now I saw my card, it wont be a surprise". Guess what..another excuse to make another card. Here is it! I'm not telling him and he will get it on his birthday!
I have posted about how I am a BIG bargain shopper so this is one of my bargains...the paper is K&Company Spaghetti Designer Paper Pack. I picked this up at Target on clearance for $1.99. Then the matching stickers I got for $0.62! Nothing like a GREAT deal!
My card for today is a pocket/tag card. The pocket is 4 x 5 sealed on 3 sides. The tag was cut from George and Basic at 2 1/2. "Smile" is cut from the Paisley cartridge (p36) at 1" and the Frog also from the same page was cut at 2 1/2.
I am entering these for the following challenges:
Claudia & Company- Challenge #76 Recipe
Two Scraptastic Gals-CCCC #7 Paisley Cartidge

Question for you? and butterfly kisses
Happy President's Day! I hope everyone had a happy Monday!
My kiddos are home this week for their February break so I dragged them to Michaels looking for disstress ink. I haven't worked with distressing anything but have watched may videos and seen some amazing projects...so I found 4 different colors. To make it all better they had a 20% off your entire purchase coupon which I used :). I plan on working with them tomorrow so stay tuned to see what I come up with :)
I also found this paper kit that had the butterflies and matching paper on clearance for $1.99. It was 6 6x6 pieces of paper, the butterfly stickers and some other fun embelishements. I couldn't pass it up so I came home and made this. I am entering this over at 365 Cards: Day 358- Color Scheme.
Ok for my question to you...what program do you recommend/use....Sure Cuts ALot or Make the Cut? I see file downloads that use both, I wanted to get one but am unsure which I should get. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for coming to visit me today...until tomorrow :)

Always Crafting- Whimsical Wednesday Challenge- Layout
With Spring hopefully right around the corner, I thought I would make a layout for something I can't wait to start...my garden!!
I got the nursery rhymes cartridge when Michael's was having a clearance sale. For $9.99 I couldn't pass it up but when I got home I thought when would I use this...it would probably just sit. And it has...until now :)
So I left spaces for 3 photo's which I will put int start of the garden...the progress of all my hard work...and our rewards.
I also made this to enter into the Always Crafting- Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. Stephanie's Challenge is a color challenge using the following picture.
So until tomorrow....have a great night!
Please check out my entry and Vote :) Papercraft Star challenge #33

The best part about this card is my husband LOVED it...(I guess he wouldn't tell me he didn't like it right?!?!) I wrote in the card "you hold the key to my heart" cute :) I found the key and heart in the Martha Steward Valentine's collection.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I want to first off wish everyone a "Happy Valentine's Day"! I know with all the work I put into making TONS of valentine's for my kiddos and their teachers I am glad to say...It was a job well done. Everyone loved everything :)
So for my boys I decorated photo boxes for them and filled them with Lego mini figs, Mighty beans, Gomu erasers and of course valentines chocolate. They were so excited this morning when the boxes were waiting for them.

Another Valentine's Day Project
Another Valentine's Day project...
I think I am Valentine's Day out...so for my last project until next year I made this fold box/bag for my son's teacher. I LOVE these boxes/bags and I know she will also. They are super easy to make and can be made in any size. This one is a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock and coordinating paper from K&Company's Valentine's Designer Paper pack.
I am going to enter this in the Creative Cutter Room: Love Notes (Boxes) Challenge. The Challenge was to create a Valentine Box Project for your kids or to give as a Gift.

Box/Bag?
Yesterday Tami over at Tami's Craft Connection made the cutest box/bag. After seeing that I knew I had to make one also. I went to 1 of my favorite tutorial sites Splitcoaststampers and followed their tutorial for what they call a treat box. It was so easy and it turned out great I think. I used Black Currant paper (my favorite) and a 12 x 12 piece of cardstock. My son came home and asked for this for his teacher valentine. If his class and teacher's gift wasn't already done she would be getting one of these. I'm thinking this one is staying on my desk along with the kisses inside :)

Valentine's Teacher Gifts
Here is a quick post today...I found these plastic containers at Michael's and thought these would be really cute for teacher's gifts. I filled them with candy and decorated the outside with K&Company Valentine's Day paper. The chipboard stickers are Martha Stewart Holidays. I found they didn't stick very well so I had to use my ATG to get them to stick better. Does anyone else ever have that problem and if so what do you use? Or do you eliminate the problem all together and add adhesive of your own before you even stick them down? My only problem is im not sure what to put on the lid. Good thing Valentine's Day isnt until Monday...I still have time :)
Thanks for taking the time to look.

Criss-Cross Card- Immortial Love Paper
I thought I would give the criss-cross card a shot...I needed something to make to take my mind off of Valentine's Day stuff. Since I recently picked up the immortal love paper from Joanne's not to long ago...that was my paper of choice. I am a HUGE twilight fan and I was so excited to see this paper. Joanne's is the only place that carried it around here....trust me I looked everywhere for it. I followed the Splitcoasstampers- tutorial and I love the way it turned out. I know just the person that is getting this card also. I know she will LOVE it.

Paper Flowers
On my daily search through the blogging world I came across these beautiful paper flowers on Paper Junkie's blog. Not only did she show these beautiful flowers but she made a you-tube video to show how so very easy these are to make. If you are looking for something easy to make...check out this video.http://www.youtube.com/user/PaperJunkiemama?feature=mhum#p/a/u/0/pdEn1J6EQEQ
I made 5 today and I am going to use them as the centerpieces for the luncheon on Wednesday. They came out so great!

Staff Appreciation Post-it Notes
I posted a few days ago about making 90 post it notes for the PTO Staff Appreciation Luncheon I am co-chair of. Well here is the completed post it's. I wanted something simple for both the males and the female's in the building...just alittle something to let them know that all their hard work is much appreciated. I have almost all of them 100% completed...just a few more tags and bling :)
