"Your one in a Melon"

Good Morning Bloggers!

It is a beautiful day here and I hoping to take the kids swimming :)
But I wanted to share a card I made for the BBTB2 Watermelon Challenge and Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge.
For whatever reason I am having the hardest time uploading pictures....anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure if it is my computer or blogger issues again :(

Yahoooo....my picture uploaded!
Using the sketch I came up with this.

The paper is a new stack I picked up from DCWV~ The Playtime Stack.
I used the Stretch your Imagination Cartridge for the watermelon cut at 1".
I hid the face and stamped a cute one with my Peachy Keen~Simple Sallies.
I computer generated the sentiment and printed it on white cardstock after I stamped the little leaves using a Stampin' Up stamp and olive green ink.
I popped the cut scallop up (used SCAL) and popped the watermelon up as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day :)

~~Whimsical Wednesday Challenge Day~~

Good Morning Everyone!
It is time again for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge!!

This week both card team have come together for our challenge, to make get well cards for a very special little boy. Angelo, who is the grandson of Margie from Bella Bug Creations, is going through a very difficult time right now. He underwent brain surgery last week and will begin chemotherapy next week. You can read more about Angelo at this post over at Margie's blog http://bellabugcreations.blogspot.com/2011/06/angelo.html. We hope that you will all join us and make a card for Angelo too.

Angelo is such a sweet little boy and I know he will LOVE all the Get Well Cards we send him.
For my card I used the Create a Critter Cartridge for the cute Whale.
He was cute at 3".
His body was embossed with my cuttlebug for alittle texture.
I then attached him with an Action Wobble...he looks like he is swimming :)
The sentiment was computer generated by me.
I added eyelets to the corners as well as to the sentiment and then threaded some ribbon through the two on the sentiment.
I hope Angelo likes this and can't wait to bring alittle happiness to his cute face!

Please join us this week over at Whimsical Wednesdays for this weeks challenge and put a smile on a little boys face!

Paper Playtime's Digi Monday~~Challenge #49

Good Morning Bloggers!
It is the last Monday of the Month and you know what that means~ Digi Monday over at Paper Playtime!!
This Monday's digi challenge is to use RED,WHITE & BLUE
And since it's DIGI MONDAY,
make sure your project has either a
Digi or Stamped Image or Sentiment!
I am able to showcase two Digi sites for this week.
The first is from Di's Digital Downloads.
Isn't this such a super cute image?
I choose this one because on the 4th we spend it at the lake and the thing my boys love the most is roasting marshmallow right before the fireworks start!
I colored this image with my copics....I am getting better with the coloring :)
I used red cardstock for the mat and the stripes and the blue w/stars is from my stash.
I have talked about these fun candi's before and I used them to write on this time. There are so many uses for these and I have been questioned many times about them~ They are paper embellishments that you use a foam dot or their foam squares to attach. They are so much fun to work with and yep~you can write on them, stamp on them, even color them to match your project.
I was so excited to see them in my local stamp store and then at the CKC convention. I have a bunch of different colors and have been using them quite a lot!
My next digi comes from Pink Cat Studio.
For this card I used the colored image~Billy Rockstar! Such a doll....he reminds me of my boys playing Rock Band :)
My card base is a welded one (The only welded shape I seem to be able to make) using George and Basic Shapes.
I used Bo Bunny Paper and my Fiskars Paper cutter for the image shape. He was attached using foam squares .
I cut the stars from the Create a Critter cartridge and used both cuts to layer.
Alittle bakers twine and my card was done.

So I hope you like my projects for today.
Please hop on over to  Paper Playtime and join in on the fun.
You have 2 weeks to link up!
Thanks for stopping by!

I am entering the 2nd card into the following Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut~Challenge Me Monday~ Red, White and Blue
Scrapookaholic By Abby~#8 Red/White and Blue

~Red/White & Blue ~~Whimsical Wednesdays & Catch the Bug Challenge Card

Hi everyone!

I have a card to share today to enter into a few challenges.
Since it is still baseball season at my house~we are just getting into the playoffs~ and the 4th is fast approaching I decided to incorporate the two for this card.

The paper is Bo Bunny~Liberty Fireworks.

Image is Bugaboo Stamps~I love all their stamps and always have such a hard time deciding which to purchase...but I think this one is an all time favorite!

Stars are a border cut from the Stand and Salute Cartridge at 5" I used the inside cut as well and attached a sparkly brad and foam tape to give it some dimension.

Ribbon is American Crafts and I used 3 Candi's in the bottom corner. I just LOVE these embellishments! They have a sparkle to them that the picture does not show to well.

I colored the image with my copics but in a very easy and simple way. I used 2 markers~B26 and R24.
There is not blending or shading...just straight color :)

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:
Whimsical Wednesdays~Let's Get Patriotic (remember you have 2 weeks to enter)
Catch the Bug Challenge~Red/White/Blue & Ribbon

Hope you like my creation for today...It so makes me think of summer!

~~Summer Vacation Journal~~

Hi Blogging Buddies!!
Today is the first official day of summer break and I have always wanted to journal our vacation but never got around to starting.
This year since my boys are now in 3rd and 5th grade we are making it a priority to get this done.

My son picked out the paper which is DCWV~ The Endless Summer Stack as well as picked out the letters~ from the Cuttin' Up Cartridge.
We cut the sun from the Create a Critter Cartridge and I stamped a super cute face from PKS.
We dated the journal for this year using some metal numbers I had in my stash.

My son really likes the way this turned out and has already written in it for yesterday and today.
Now I just hope he can keep it up :)

I am entering this into the following Challenges:
Celebrate the Occasion~Celebrate summer w/ Sun
Fantabulous Cricut~ Challenge Me Monday~Summer Sun
Getting Cricky~Face It

School's Out!! Teacher's Thank You Card /PKS

Afternoon Blogger!!

School is officially over for my kiddos and I couldn't be happier to have them home!
Since today was their last day I gave their teacher's our gifts as well as my card. I love each of the boys teachers so much and they both had such a great year!!
To make things easier on me I made 3 of the same cards for the main teachers, one for the band teacher and 2 for the aides.

Here are closeups of the cards....

Sorry about the picture...color is off alittle!
The card is a weld from the George and Basic Cartridge. I have the hardest time welding so ANY tips would be greatly appreciated!
I cut the apple from Create a Critter and added PK~531~Simple Sallies face.
The tag is from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More with a Fiskars sentiment.
I added some Candi embellishments to the side along with some bakers twine a white gel pen doodles.

This is the same basic design with the pencil cut from the Locker Talk Cartridge.
Again I used PKS for the face and I printed the sentiment from my computer.
I used my border punch for the paper look.
Lastly I have the band teachers card. I found this awesome Graphic 45 paper that I used for the base.
I love this paper so much I didn't want to cut it :( But I did and I like the way this came out. Plain and simple!!

That's all I have for now....Oh yeah one more thing...My card won over at The Paper Variety!!
It was the Twisted Easel Father's Day Card!
Whoo Hoo!

Thanks for stopping by....see you all later!

We hope to inspire you with our Sweet Creations!
If you happen to stumble upon my blog and would like to play along. Please start at www.bellascrapbookdesigns.blogspot.com.

Here is my Birthday Card....Happy Birthday Sylvia!!

I was inspired by this month's edition of Scrapbooks etc and a photo of an Accordion Fold Card with a pull tab. Since the photo showed a birthday card with a cupcake I knew I wanted to give this card a try.

Here is one side of the card. Believe it or not this is a A2 size card with lots of added details

You can see my pull tab on this side of the card. Such a fun card!

This again is an A2 size card. The card base is 5 1/2 x 12 and it is scored at 1,2,4, 6 and 9"
Each of the pattern papers are from K & Company's Confetti paper pack.
The sentiments are from Fiskar's Birthday Cheer set.
I used the Simply Charmed Cartridge for the cupcake and that was cut at 4.75".
All the ribbon is from my stash and the embellishments are homemade skittles :)
If you want to see how to make these, I did a picture tutorial and you can see it here.

Now for some Blog Candy!!
I am giving one lucky commenter a bunch of handmade by me skittles!

My 200th Post! ~Picture Tutorial on How to Make your own Skittles~

Morning Bloggers!
Wishing all the wonderful father's out there a VERY Happy Father's Day!

This is my 200th post! Whoo Hoo :)

I have an easy make it yourself picture tutorial on how to make your own Skittles.
I have had a few messages and inquires about how to do this so I thought I would share how I make mine.

Start out with some ziplock bags, alcohol ink in any color you want and some of these floral gems. I bought mine at Michael's in their floral department. You get a HUGE bag for I think $9.99 and I used a coupon :) There are tons in the bag to make probably more skittles than you could use LOL!

Take a baggie full of as many of the gems as you want to color and add the alcohol ink into the bag. Use as much or as little color as you want. You can always add more color.

I just squeezed about 5 drops in...maybe alittle more

Once you have the color in the bag, mix it up until the gems are coated. I made 6 different colors using all the alcohol inks I have. A pretty rainbow of color!

Next dump the gems out to dry...I put mine on some scrap paper. Spread them out so they have the room to dry completely. Let them set for at least 6-12 hours to ensure they are completely dry. You can speed up the process by using your heat tool but be careful that you don't shoot the gems all over the place :)

Here are all the completed colored gems. They are still in the drying phase.

They are so much fun to use on all sorts of different projects.
Have fun with these!

Hope you like this and will give it a try. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day :)

My CKC Haul and an Award

Morning everyone!

I wanted to share my CKC haul with you all.
I had a blast at my first convention. I saw lots of great products...tons of super cute papers and got some great ideas.

I did stick to a budget so that was great and of course picked up some great things

I got this whole set of Fiskar cutting templets and the cutting blade with mat. I was impressed with the demo on these products and I am a huge fan of Fiskar products anyways :)

A few of the papers and paper packs I found. I just LOVE this Monsterville paper by Sei and the Too the Moon line from Fancy Pants.

Lastly I found some 8x8 albums which I do plan on using :) as well as a new favorite embellishment of mine~The Candi's. These are so much fun to use! I also picked up some brads and eyelets from the Eyelet Outlet. They have these quicklets which are eyelets you can set with a pen...how cool is that?!?! Lastly I have been searching high and low for seam binding and I wasn't ready to by some online...but I found it here! I bought 10 yards and plan on making some of my own crinkle ribbon with it. I will let you all know how that goes when I do it.

Lastly I want to share an award I received from 2 very talented crafters!

I am hoping to come back with lots of goodies to share later along with announcing my 300 Follower Blog Candy winner. Since I surpassed 400 followers I will be adding to this bunch of yummies. You will all find out what later as well :)
Secondly as I just said I surpassed 400 followers...and I did say more was being added...Yipee to the lucky winner!! But you all have to wait until later to find out who that is!

I do have a card to share for today...
This was put together for a few challenges. I just love making and entering these challenges. Not for the prizes (even though they are great if you win) but just to try new things and create with a new twist!
This card is being entered into the following Challenges:
Peachy Keen Stamps~ Sketch  Challenge #54
Celebrate the Occasion~ #18 birthday with a Party Hat
Scrappy Moms Stamps~ Sweet Treats

My card is the standard A2 size
I used kraft cardstock for the base and paper from K&Company's Confetti Stack.
The party hat is cut from the Celebrations cartridge at 4". I used both the shadow and layer but hid the circle cuts so I could add my peachy keen face :)
My sentiment is a fiskar's birthday stamp and I used my black gel pen for some doodling as well as my gold shadow gel pens for the hat. The really cool thing about these gel pens is they do just that...leave the color as a shadow and pop the gold on top. Not sure how well the picture show it but it looks really cool.

So thanks for stopping by...make sure you come back later for the winner announcement and to see my convention snags!

Have a Great day!!

Whimsical Wednesdays Color Challenge

Morning everyone!
It is time again for another Whimsical Wednesdays Challenge!
This weeks challenge is a Color Challenge!

Your inspiration for this challenge is to use the colors Red and Yellow and you can choose another color or colors from the photo.

Isn't this such a fabulous craft room? Wish mine looked like this :)

So for my project I made a "sweet" card
My card is a standard A2 size and I used paper from Jillibean Soup~Chilled Strawberry Soup Collection in Whipped Cream.
I just LOVE this paper and the fun polka dots.

My cherries were cut at 4" using the Preserves Cartridge. There are 2 different red papers for the cherries and 2 different green papers for the stems/leaves. Both were scrap from my stash.

The sentiment is from Emma's My Creative Time ~~This and That~~ stamp set. This is such a great stamp set with great everyday sentiments.

Not too long ago I watched a video on how to make your own skittles. I gave it a go and made a bunch in different colors using Tim Holtz alchol ink.
I used some watermelon ones for the embellishments on this card.
I also used my favorite white gel pen for some added details on the cherries.

Hope my card, the DT's projects and this great craft room photo gives you lots of inspiration to join into this weeks challenge. Remember you have 2 weeks to link up and join in on the fun!

Make sure you check out the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge Blog for all the other great ideas!

Have a GREAT day and happy craftin' :)

~~Wedding Card~~

Morning Bloggers!
Happy Flag Day :)
I am posting bright and early today because then it is off to the kids school for their annual Flag Day parade.
Today's card is for 2 challenges...Whoo hoo I'm on a roll again with the challenge entries

I made a simple and what I think elegant wedding card. I used an SVG file for the scalloped oval and paper from DCVW Love and Wedding stack.
The hearts were cut from the Wedding Cartridge using the shadow and 2 layers.
I stamped the sentiment using TPC Studios~ Greetings Stamp set and added some bling with my irock.

I have wanted to purchase some crinkle ribbon and have yet to do so...then I watched some videos on how to make my own..unfortunately I can not find seam binding around here, only online. Again something I haven't ordered yet. Then I was at my favorite store yesterday buying CKC tickets for this upcoming weekend when I saw some crinkly ribbon. I bought a bunch in 6 different colors and used the white on this card. Not crinkle ribbon but close :)

I am entering this card into the following Challenges:
Paper Cutz Challenge- #95 Pink, White & Black

Thanks for stopping by...tomorrow is Challenge time over at Whimsical Wednesdays. Make sure to come back and check out my project along with the rest of the DT.

Happy Father's Day Card

Hi bloggers!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend. We are but it has been super busy!
Yesterday my baby turned 8 and I had a surprise party for him :)
I invited 5 of his BFF's over for some hang-out time and let me tell you not only was my son surprised, but the boys had a blast!
No one knew about the party until yesterday afternoon when all the kids came home. I wanted no slip ups by any of the boys so not only were they excited to come and surprise Parker, the night was perfect for a bonfire and lots of smores!
My son got all new baseball gear and I had everyone bring their mitts so there was alot of baseball and bear hunting....yes it was lots of fun I guess running through our woods hunting for bears. The imagination of boys!!

Today we played 2 ball games. My son's team is pretty good but the beginning of the season got off to a rocky start. We were rained out a bunch of times so we started out not playing too well. Today they won both of their games and like I posted the other day regarding my son's triple play, another team member hit a grand slam. Crazy exciting!!

Anyways my card today is a quick father's day card made for a friend's husband. He is a HUGE train buff so I knew this would be perfect.
The card is A2 sized and I used paper from Joannes
The train is from the My World Cartridge.
I wanted to keep this simple so I only used the shadow and 1st layer and inked the lines instead of layering.
The inside says "Happy Father's Day"
I like how the train fits right under the saying on the paper. Guess it couldn't have worked out better :)

Well that is all I have for tonight. Off to bed and then back to the field tomorrow for another game.
See you all tomorrow

Very simple using my scrap paper and my 1 1/2" punch.

My son's birthday is today so I have been busy making cake pops for school. Cookie cake for his party tonight and cleaning the house.
