Picture Tutorial on Making Tag Hearts~ Creative Inspirations Paint

Good Morning !!
On Sunday, Creative Inspirations Paint kicked of the next Inspired by Challenge.
This weeks challenge is
Inspired By: Tags
and
the challenge is to make any project with a tag
so
I posted this tag
I received quite a few comments regarding how I made the hearts and I thought I would walk you through
with a picture tutorial.

So here we go...
I started out with these fun chipboard pieces that I picked up at Michael's from the $1 bin
Colleen, another CIP DT member also made a project using these chipboard pieces which can be seen

Next I choose the color of Creative Inspirations Paint I was going to work with.
Antique Silver, Blush, Evergreen and Tanzanite in this tutorial

Such a cool color combo I think...remember any colors will work :)

Using my paint brush I dabbed the color on.....so not paint them on.
You want the look of tie dyed, or splattered rather than a smooth coat
Don't be afraid to mix it up!
If there is not enough of one color, add more paint.
The more you play the different the end result will be

This is where my original project turned...
I was being very impatient waiting for the paint to dry so I took out my heat gun
and heated the hearts to quick dry them...
instead of just drying them...

the heat gun made the paint bubble giving the hearts even more texture and a splattered look.
Not the idea I was shooting for originally but so happy with how they ended up turning out.
Not only can you see the texture from the original unpainted embossed hearts, but the paint created a texture as well from being heated.

Now these hearts are ready for another project!!

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial
and I would love to see you give this a try!!
Also would love to see you create a project for our challenge!!
All the details can be found
Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day!

E.A.D Designs Blog Hop~ Hunger Games Cup

Good Morning Bloggers!
It is Monday and time for our
DT Blog Hop!!

Now you should be coming from
Jenn's
if not and you just happened to stop in to say hello you want to start at the beginning hop on over to
Make sure to comment all around, including E.A.D Designs for a chance to win some goodies...plus get tons of awesome inspiration!!

I just got finished reading all 3 books in
The Hunger Games series...
I read them in about a week and when I was about 20 pages from the end of book 3 I tried so hard to prolong the ending...
I did not want the book to be over!
What a GREAT series and I highly recommend it!!
My son is reading the book as well and I promised him that if he finished reading it we would go see the movie.
He is not done yet but hoping to take him next weekend.
So with all the hype with the book and everything, a fellow blogging buddy Cathie from the Cricut Creative Cutter Room
posted this freebie cut file
and here is what I did with it

I had this tumbler sitting on my desk just waiting for some vinyl.Perfect opportunity!!!
I used E.A.D Designs vinyl in Mustard
and cut my Mockingjay out using my Silhouette Cameo

My son has already laid claims to this :)

I hope you have enjoyed my project!
Now you are off to the very talented
Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day!

Creative Inspirations Paint~Inspired By Tags Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!!
It is Sunday and time for another challenge over at
This weeks challenge is...
Inspired by: Tags
we want to see any project that is a tag and/or has a tag
Here is what I created

For my tag I found these chipboard hearts in the $1 bin at Michaels
and started experimenting with my paints.
I used Sea Foam. Tutu Pink and Light Purple and kinda splattered the paints on the chipboard.
Being the impatient person I am...I didn't want to wait for the paint to fully dry so I used my heat gun to speed up the process.
While doing that, it caused the paint to bubble and give it the coolest texture!!
I was so loving the way it came out that I wanted the hearts to be the focal point on my tag and make it very CAS.
I also used the Sea Foam paint to color my satin ribbon which made matching a ribbon so easy!!
My fellow DT'er Sandie did a post here using this technique on the ribbon and I knew I wanted to give that a try!! It adds so much shimmer to the ribbon!!
My sentiment is from Paper Smooches~ Simple Sentiment set
and
I used Twinery Twine in Lilac, Blossom and Caribbean

What do you think?
I hope you will join in this week for our new challenge!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT day!!

Teacher Appreciation Gift Box~ 3 Girl Jam DT Post

Morning Bloggers!!!
I am here with my first
3 Girl Jam DT project!
I am so excited to share this fun project with you!
Since Teacher Appreciation week
is fast approaching, I wanted to get a jump start on some gifts for my 2 boys fabulous and oh so hard working teachers.
Here is what one of the Teacher will get.....
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out this adorable Apple Treat Box from
The sentiments, also from the same set were cut using
My Creative Time~scallop and stitched circle die
and
my handy dandy scissors
To tie the gift tag on I used
Crinkle Ribbon in Goblin Green
Now.....
who said the Spooky Bundle was only for Halloween??
And....
What is a gift box without some yummy treats?
For the bag which fits perfectly into the box
I tied some more crinkle ribbon
from
in Hot Chocolate and Holly Berry
No fancy bows...just a straight tie and I think it looks great!

Additional items used include:
Foam pop dots for the sentiments
Stickles in Xmas Red
White gel pen for doodles
Cuttle bug folders in Divine Swirl and Argyle

What do you think?
Thanks so much for checking out my project
and have a GREAT day!!
