Happy Pumpkin Spice Season.....{MCT Trending Now}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another
"Trending Now" with My Creative Time!!
Today's trending now is "Fall Harvest"
The DT was asked to make anything that has to do with fall.
Well fall I think is my favorite time of the year~ know why??
PUMPKIN season!!!!
My inspiration comes from all things pumpkin, especially Pumpkin Coffee!!
Take a look at my card and let me know what you think......
I made my card using several stamp/die sets.
I started with my favorite, the Stitched Rectangular Frame Die for the top layer of my card and layered it on a piece of white cardstock and a kraft A2 size card base.
Next I stamped my sentiment using the Gobble Gobble set.
The focal point of my card is that adorable coffee cup from the set~ We're Better Together. I did add the die cut pumpkin to the cup from the Mini Lolly Add-Ons. The little leaf I also added to the pumpkin is from the new set~ Build a Fall Wreath.
To finish up my card, I added a gold thread nest behind the cup and some matching green and orange sequins.
A sweet fall card for a pumpkin spice fan!!

Well that is all I have for today~

You're the only fish for me!....{MCT Trending Now}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another
"Trending Now" with My Creative Time!!
Today's trending now is UNDER the SEA and the DT is creating projects inspired by the sea or beach.
I love fish and we have several fish tanks in our house so today's project is inspired by both our fish tanks and our recent trip to the beach where we did lots of fishing.
Here is the card I made....
To make my card, I started with a kraft cardstock base, added a layer of white cardstock and then die cut some designer paper (lawn fawn~Perfectly plaid) using my Stitched Rectangular Frame Die & More set.
Next I die cut the porthole using the Lost at Sea set. I layered a piece of blue vellum under the porthole as well as a piece of white cardstock that I die cut using the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies. Some added mini brads completed my porthole.
That adorable fish, coral and sentiment all come from the set~ You're a Great Catch. I stamped both the fish and coral on scrap designer paper , die cut them out and popped them up onto the front of the porthole.
To complete my card, I added some Morning Dew Nuvo Drops to look like fish bubbles.

Here are some pics from our recent camping trip in Myrtle Beach.
Fishing and crabbing right outside of our camper :)

And here are a few of our goldfish. We have had some of these guys for over 7 years and they are HUGE! Currently living in a 120 gallon fish tank and a 10ft swimming pool :)

Well that is all I have for today~

Happy Easter to you!.....{MCT Trending Now~Spring Fling}

Good Morning everyone!!
I am back from vacation and trying to get back into the swing of things both in the house and here on my blog! I promise to be around really soon to play catch-up and know that I am not ignoring all your wonderful projects!!! Just give me a few more days to make my rounds!!!!!

I am sharing a card today for
My Creative Time's
Trending Now.....Spring Fling
and the DT is making projects using Watercolors!!
Here is my Easter card......
take a look and let me know what you think!
I am fairly new at playing with watercolors and have to be honest....I struggled with this card. Not the actual design of the card, the watercolor part...LOL!
After playing around with several different colors of my Zig markers, I settled with these pastel colors for my Easter card.  I wanted something CAS so that I could mass produce these if needed and I think I came up with something even I can say I like :)
To make my card, I die cut a piece of watercolor paper using the Stitched Rectangular Frame Die and then started my watercolor design.
I colored each of the panels using my Zig markers and then ran some water over each color to achieve the watercolor look I wanted. I did go back and add more color to the yellow and blue since they were the lightest of the bunch. Very easy!
Next after my watercolor was dry, I stamped my sentiment from the new set~ Favorite Bunny. Such a perfect Easter set!!
I then wrapped some Totally White Trendy Twine around the card and popped the whole mat onto a kraft cardstock base. The finishing touch to my card is that cutie little bunny die cut from the newly released set~ Mini Bunny Dies

A quick and easy card to make that can be mass produced using lots of different sentiments!

I hope you like my card!

You Fill My Heart With Love....{MCT Heat Embossing}

Good Morning everyone!!
I am sharing a card today for
My Creative Time's
Trending Now.....Heat Embossing
While blog hopping I came across a card on Pinterest that inspired my card.... you can see it
HERE
and here is my take on the card using all MCT stamps and dies along with heat embossing of the sentiment
My CAS valentine's day card was very easy to make.
I used white cardstock for the base and the small Stitched Rectangular Frame Die for the card mat
Next using Black Embossing Powder and VeraMark ink, I heat embossed the sentiment onto the card mat using the set~ Chalkboard Valentines
For the hearts, I used the die from the set You Touched My Heart and some pattern paper from SN@P. For added embellishing, I ran some Totally White Trendy Twine through the hearts and added a simple bow.

A quick and easy card to make that can be mass produced using lots of different sentiments!

I hope you like my card!

Autumn Greetings.....{MCT Trending Now ~Wood Pallets}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another
"Trending Now"
with
Today we are focusing on "Wood Pallets"
Using a stamp, the color of wood, a wood element, or texture.
Here is the fall inspired card I made using the Grainy Wood Background stamp....
I went CAS with my card and love how this turned out!
veramark ink to stamp it onto a piece of kraft card stock. The versamark ink adds the slightest of color to the kraft making it the perfect ink for my natural wood looking background.
Next I die cut my fall inspired tree using the Seasonal Greetings dies and popped it up onto the front of my card. I stamped my sentiment using the Piles of Smiles set and finished my card off with some red and orange NUVO crystal drops (my new FAVORITE embellishment!!)

You Color My World....{MCT Trending Now~Mixed Media}

Good Morning everyone!

I know I have apologized before but I am going to do it again and say I am so sorry I haven't been around in bloggy land lately.  With the kids home this summer their activities have kept me SO busy. Between baseball and football there is barely enough time for me to go grocery shopping...LOL! The kids will be back to school soon and I promise I will be making my rounds on a regular basis. Please hang in there with me for a few more weeks...LOL!!!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by today for another
Trending Now with My Creative Time!

Today we are getting inky and doing some Mixed Media using My Creative Time stamps and dies!
I have to be honest and say I am not really sure I did this right but following in the footsteps of Tim Holtz I got inky and had a blast creating my tag.
Take a look and let me know what you think :)
To make my tag I started out my heat embossing the Best Friends Background using clear glitter embossing powder.Its hard to see in the pic but the embossing is so pretty!!
Next I got inky and created a rainbow over top the embossing with a mix of Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Keeping up with the inking, I used the paint brush swoosh in the new Let's Paint the Town set and stamped it using black ink directly over all the colors. I wiped off the extra ink so you could see the background through the inking too. Such a fun background this created!
For the sentiment and paint brush, I used the same Let's Paint the Town set. The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock and hand cut. I then layered it on some kraft cardstock and again hand cut it out. It was then popped up onto the tag with some foam.
The paint brush was die cut and for some extra texture I stamped the handle with the Grainy Background stamp set. The paint part of the brush was inked up using some Distress Ink .
Finally to finish up my tag, I took some white crinkle ribbon and inked it up using the same colors from the tag. Love how the crinkle ribbon can be colored to match a project!!

MCT Trending Now~Make it Bright!

Good Morning everyone!
Thanks for stopping by today for another
Trending Now with My Creative Time!

Today we are MAKING it BRIGHT with fun spring colors.
For my card I did make it bright as well as make it fun :)

I used designer paper from DoodleBug Designs  for the bright and cheerful background and played the focal point of my card around the sentiment from the You're Brilliant stamp set.
I die cut the sun from the newer You are My Sunshine set and then thought that he would look super cute with a pair of sunglasses on. Those glasses are so super adorable and you can find them in the What's Growing On? set.
For the glasses I also added glossy accents for some extra shine on top of the silver shiny card stock.
To finish my card I added some die cut stars from the newly released Shine like the Stars set, layered some Wink of Stella onto the tops of them and then popped them up with some foam. I also added a few gold sequins.

Happy Halloween.... MCT Trending Now {Color Blocking}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to
My Creative Time's Trending Now!
Today the DT is showcasing projects using the Color Blocking Technique

After google searching Color Blocking, I found this chart that I then used to make my card.
I went with Analogous Color Schemes.....which is using colors next to each other on the color wheel
I am hoping that I did this project correctly...LOL!
Here is my Halloween card
To make my card, I started by die cutting 3 different color pieces of cardstock in close color ranges to one another using the largest of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Die.
Once I had the layout set up, I took the orange piece of cardstock, trimmed it down and then die cut the "Happy" sentiment out. I filled in some of the missing pieces in the wording but left other parts so you could see the yellow through it..looks kinda cool don't you think?
I stamped the "Halloween" sentiment under my die cut "Happy" and then embellished with some hemp twine and some matching sequins.

MCT Trending Now.....{Party On!}

Good Morning Everyone!!!
Today I get to share another My Creative Time project with you all!
It is Trending Now....Party On!
The MCT DT will be showcasing party projects~anything using banners, pom poms...etc
My son is turning 12 in a few weeks so I thought I would use the AWESOME newly released gift bag die to make a project. Of course when it comes time to give this to him, it will be filled with some yummy treats and probably a gift card or two :)
To make this, I used the beautiful designer paper from Lawn Fawn and die cut the gift bag die. Next I added the super fun banner die cut and added it to the front of the gift bag. Since he is turning 12, I used the number dies from the Stitched 4x6 Journal Die set and finished the bag off with a simple tag. For that tag, I used the newly released Chalkboard Birthday stamp set and stamped it onto the Fun Stitched Tag Die. Tied it all onto the ribbon handle with some Totally White Trendy Twine and this gift bag is all ready to be filled for the birthday boy!

Trending Now...."Stencil it" {Happy B-day w/MCT}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another "Trending Now" with My Creative Time!!
Today we are focusing on "Stencil it" techniques using My Creative Time dies to make our own stencils! Then using those stencils to make backgrounds, focal points, etc.....

For my card today, I actually made it for a friend of my son who is having a birthday this weekend. I wanted my card to be fun and interactive as well as colorful and not too childish. I am pretty sure I accomplished all of the above and even received the thumbs up from my son too :)
This card was so fun to create and can be mass produced quite easily. The best thing about this, besides the fun star pattern, is now that I have the stencil made, I can reuse it tons more! So this is how I made my card.....
I took a piece of clear acetate that I picked up at the office supply store and I cut it down to a 5x6 size. The reason for the larger than card base size, is so I could lay it over the card mat and have a place to tape it down without taping on my card mat and running the risk of ripping the cardstock.
Next I laid out the star pattern I wanted and ran it through my big shot. I did the pattern 2 more times to fill in the whole sheet of acetate.
Next I laid the stencil onto my card mat and using my ink daubers, added my color to each of the stars. Once all my stars were colored in, I carefully removed my stencil~ cleaning off the ink so I could save it for another project, and I was left with some beautifully inked stars.
Then for my sentiment, I used the die cut from the Tag Die Layers set, remembering to save the insides of the letters. I added a scrap piece of acetate to the backside of the cardstock and then filled the window with some silver star sequins. Once I had the card mat placed onto my black card base, I took those letter pieces to fill in the sentiment. Some more randomly placed star sequins onto the front of the card and my birthday card was complete!
