Get Well Gift......{PKS}

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday everyone!!!
I took the weekend off from the craft room to spend some much needed time with the family. My son had his first football scrimmage of the season and then the hubs and I spent a night out up at the casino in Niagara Falls for our anniversary.
We were celebrating 15 years :) even though our anniversary isn't until this weekend...we had to take advantage of the night with nothing going on...no football and no baseball and my inlaws in town to take the kids.
We had so much fun....came away without losing all the money in our pockets and it was nice to spend some time together. With our crazy schedules and his work schedule it has been a year since we have gone out...Yikes! It was so needed!!!

Anyways since I usually do my Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge project over the weekend, I didn't get a chance to make it until yesterday and now I get to share it with you all today!
Here is the Challenge~
3-D Objects :: Pets
Create the 3-D project of your choice using a pet theme.

And here is my take on the challenge~
If you don't know, or couldn't tell by my blog name~ My hubs and I raise chickens.....I LOVE them and they make such GREAT pets! Plus they give us something in return...Fresh Eggs!
 So for this challenge I used my adorable, and probably favorite stamp~ Henny Penny for my get well gift sack.Inside the sack I put some Chicken soup of course, some tissues, hand sanitizer and some cough drops. Wouldn't this make you feel better???

So here is how I made this.....  I made an SVG cut for Henny Penny and cut the shape out using my Cameo. Then stamped the image onto my cut to begin the minimal coloring needed to finish her.  I colored her with a mix of my prismacolor pencils and added a bit of dimension to her feathers using my copics. Next she was going on a tag that I die cut using My Creative Time~ Just Tag Die. I wanted my tag to have something else other then Henny Penny and my sentiment, so I added a very light spring chicken background~ also from MCT.

Next I stamped the same background onto my canvas bag. I wasn't too worried about making each section perfect....I wanted it to looks like it was meant to have some imperfections in the stamping :) The background stamping goes all the way around the bag so there is the same flow throughout.

Then to finish off my project, I added a big bow to the bag using some gorgeous May Arts ribbon that I got from a NEW online store~ My friend Beckie over at Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions! To attach the tag to the ribbon I added a decorative safety pin and my project was complete!

Color Challenge......{TKJ}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
And this week the challenge is
a Color Challenge
based on this pic....
I found this gorgeous designer paper from American Crafts~ Hip Hip Horray Paper Pad that had not only all the colors from the inspiration picture in the paper, but also had these adorable flowers...so here is my take on the inspiration. Hope you like it!!!

Since the pattern paper had so much going on, I kept my card pretty simple, by making the die cut flower the focal point of my card. I started my card by using a piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and layering it with some white card stock and the designer paper. Next I made another mat using a smaller piece of Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and matching yellow designer paper from the same paper pack. After stamping her sentiment~ from My Creative Time~ Floral Sentiments,  I put the mat aside to die cut my flower and leaves~ also from My Creative Time~Stitched Daisy Die and Stitched Leaves Die  Once all the pieces of my die cut flower had been cut, layered and assembled on my mat, I added it to my card using some pop dots for added dimension. To finish my card up, I added a decorative stitch to the side of my card and tied a big bow using some White Twill Tape.
So there you have it....my inspiration for this week's challenge.
I hope you have enjoyed my card and will play along with us!
As always I have linked all the supplies I used from The Kraft Outlet throughout my description.  If you have not checked out the store yet....make sure you do! There is so much available, the prices are so reasonable and shipping is super fast!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT Monday!!

Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions.....GRAND OPENING HOP!!!

Welcome to the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Grand-Opening Hop!
Our friend and my crafty bestie Beckie from Just B Creative Crazy is starting a new chapter in her crafty world...She is opening up her own online store and she gathered a few of her crafty friends to help introduce you all to her new adventure.
The Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions store focuses mainly on brads and eyelets. However, it does have a few other crafty notions that you can't live without, along with being very proud to carry May Arts ribbon.
As you hop along, each stop will be showcasing items that can be found in the
NEW Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions online store.

You should be coming from the Sparkly Sweet Blog, which is the start of the hop, if not head on back so you don't miss anything!!

Now onto my projects....
For my first project, Beckie sent me this adorable Jumbo Paperclip and asked me to decorate it for the hop. As I was trying to figure out what to make with it, it came to me that I am always looking for bookmarks and these jumbo paper clips would be PERFECT!
So using some wool felt from my stash, the Flower Petal Dies and the Stitched Leaves Dies from My Creative Time, my glue gun, a button from my stash and some May Arts Jute, I came up with this! Very girly and pretty, but without much to get in the way of the book and/or get destroyed from overuse. I can see making more of these...especially one for my MIL who is a HUGE reader!! What about as a teacher's gift..right??
Item's you will find in the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Store
  • jumbo paper clip
  • May Arts Jute
For my next project I wanted to make a card following this week's Mojo Monday Sketch, as well as using some different items that you will find in the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Store.
Here is my monochromatic Halloween card....
Following the sketch, which I will post at the bottom of this, I  started my card using some Kraft Card stock, cream cardstock and designer paper from Jillibean Soup~Country Pumpkin Chowder. After cutting out all my pieces using my cameo, I went about putting my card together.  I did use my drippy goo border punch (just thought the card needed something in between the designer paper and the cream paper). I of course added some machine stitching to my card and then stamped the sentiment and that adorable pumpkin using My Creative Time~Treats for My Sweets stamp set.  Finally for my embellishments I used more of that awesome May Arts Jute, some gorgeous Orange May Arts ribbon and an adorable pumpkin sparkly brad.
Item's you will find in the Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions Store
  • May Arts Orange Ribbon
  • May Arts Jute
  • Sparkly pumpkin Brad

Just for You...and a Winner!!!

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!
I am posting later than I usually do because I was busy this morning cleaning the boys room's, going through their school supplies list and seeing what I had and still needed to purchase. I have 1 kiddo almost completely ready to head back to school...only missing 1 yellow folder that seems to be sold out everywhere :( I will keep looking in all the stores...someone will have to restock them sooner than later, right????
Then for my other kiddo, I am still waiting on his schedule before going out and getting his supplies because of course some teachers request certain things that the others don't. As soon as we get his list I will finish the supplies shopping.
Anyways I wanted to pop in and share a card I made for a few challenges and then I have the winner from the Trendy Twine Halloween release to share :)

So for my card I used this week's Designer Challenge from My Creative Time~ which was to use the colors Black and White only
and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch

and came up with this card.....
I hope you like it!!
For my card I used a white A2 cardbase and layered black and white cardstock onto my base. Then for the panel, I again layered a piece of black cardstock with my white cardstock but before placing it on my mat, I used the Hexy Background stamp set from My Creative Time and Versamark Onxy black ink. Using scrap designer papers from my stash, I die cut several of the Stitched Hexy Dies to layer onto of my stamped panel. Once the dies were added to my panel, I used some sequins to add a bit some sparkle to my card and stamped my sentiment, following the sketch, using the Gift Card Sentiment stamp set, also from My Creative Time.
So there is my card....what do you think??? CAS which is my favorite based on a fun sketch!

Supplies Used:
Paper~ White, Black
Designer scraps from my stash
Stamps~ My Creative Time~
Dies~ My Creative Time~
Embellishments~ Sequins

Winner time!!!!
Using Random.org the winner of the Halloween 4 Sample pack of Trendy Twine is......

Sew~ So Simple......{TJK}

Good Morning and Happy Monday everyone!!!
It is time for a new challenge over at
And this week the challenge is
Sew~So Simple

I am a big fan of using sketches so my card for this week is based on
here is my card...hope you like it!
It is almost time for the kids to head back to school..... mixed feeling about that for sure
For this week's Sew~So Simple Challenge, I did one of my favorite things~ add lots of machine stitching to my Back to School card. I started out my card with Light Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and added several layers of pattern paper from My Minds Eye~Playdate paper pack. Then using my sewing machine I added a few different machine stitches to several of my layers. Since I was following a sketch for my card, the perfect added embellishment all came from The Kraft Outlet. I added some Cream Twill Tape, which I also ran a line of machine stitching through. Then I  took one of the Chipboard Buttons, covered it with some matching pattern paper and then using my One Eighth Inch Hole Punch, re punched the holes to add some Brown and Blue Bakers Twine
Finally I die cut some numbers from My Creative Time~Stitched 4x6 Journal Die in coordinating colors and added them to my "paper". To finish off my card I stamped my "Back to School" sentiment using My Creative Time~My Teacher Rocks! stamp set.

I Love You to The Moon & Back........{PKS Sketch Challenge}

Happy Sunday everyone!
I am back with another post and some more Peachy Keen goodness.
If you missed my other PK project that I posted this morning, you can click here to see it.
I made my second entry for the new August New Release challenges over at The Peachy Keen Connection.

My card for tonight is based on this week's Sketch Challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog. Below is the sketch and then my take on it.
Hope you like my card!!!
I was searching through my cut files and came across this adorable Happy Moon w/clouds and stars from PPBN and thought this would look too cute with a PK face and was perfect for the sketch and matching sentiment I had sitting on my desk. After cutting the pieces to the file out using papers from October Afternoon I went about layering my image for my card. Before added the main piece to my card front, I did add a strip of black cardstock, to match the sketch, and then tied some Lemon Tart Trendy Twine in a bow. Also couldn't leave out some twinkling in the form of sequins :)

Since the cut file already had a cute face I hid it, took away a layer and then stamped my own cute Peachy Keen face. Once I added some white gel pen to his eyes, I popped him up on top of the moon layer. He was just too cute to blend right in to the moon background.

Then for the sentiment, since the background paper was a darker color, I used Versafine Onxy Black ink with my sentiment from My Creative Time so the sentiment turned out bolder and richer.

Supplies Used:
Paper~
Kraft, Black, Yellow, Grey
October Afternoon~ Rocket Age
Stamps~
Dies/Cuts~
PPBN~Happy Moon with Stars and Clouds
Embellishments~
sequins
pop dots

So there is my entry for this week's challenge. I hope you have enjoyed it! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a GREAT night!!!
