Manly HB card w/TAWS

Good Morning Everyone and Happy Easter!

It is not my DT day over at The Alley Way Stamps but I could not help but make a card using one of the new release stamp sets for this month. It is actually the mini set that you can get for free just by placing a minimum order :)

Using that set and the sentiments from these~ Wish BIG (also an April new release) and Words to Live By

I came up with this....

How funny is this??? I just love this stamp

Here is a close-up of this silly guy. I paper pieced his hair and glasses and added some glossy accents to the inside of those to make them look more like glasses.

I wanted the sentiment to take up some of the white space next to him so I die cut the letters "h and b" using My Creative Time~ Lowercase Fun Dies and then stamping the rest using the new Wish BIG stamp set.

The "handsome" that you can see in the top picture is from the Words to Live By set and to add some extra manly touches to this I stapled that onto the image mat.

 The nose was colored using my copics and I popped the glasses up using foam dots.

Finally the designer paper that I used for this card is from Studio Calico~Darling Dear collection. Such a GREAT mix of colors and patterns in this paper stack!!!

So for my CAS card I used the new set

 When I saw the sentiments from this set I thought of an actual maze and through my searching of the Silhouette Store I found this great cut!

Of course I added my own touches to the card~ using the arrow from Ka-Pow , a heart punch instead of the cut that came with the file and some SU bling I received from my friend Norma over at PinkBlingCrafter

So for my CAS card I used the new set

Words to Live By

and I followed the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

and came up with this..............

 When I saw the sentiments from this set I remembered I had been hoarding saving these fun dimensional stickers for the perfect card~ well I think I found it!

Here is a close-up of the star embossing on the background..... just enough to give a plain piece of card stock some texture.

The designer paper is from October Afternoon and I took 2 different papers from the stack and used My Creative Time banner dies to make the banner border. Then of course using my sewing machine added some decorative stitching.

Here is the sentiment...don't you just LOVE the font????

Phew... that was lots of info so I am sure you are ready to see my card!

this is where my inspiration came from..

hehehehe..I used the colors blue, yellow and red and those adorable sunglasses and here is what came out of that

The papers I used for this card came from My Minds Eye~Moments paper pack (I think one of my favorites!) 

The adorable little monster and sentiment is from TAWS~Gotta Bug stamp set and the border stamp is from TAWS new March release~Pillow Talk.
See his CUTE shades??? I used another stamp set from TAWS new release~ Words to live By and took the border scallop stamped it on white cardstock and cut out only to make it look like some shades
I added some stickles to a few of the shapes in the border stamp and tied the whole card together with some gorgeous 3GJ crinkle ribbon in Sunflower.
So that it my take on the inspiration~ I sure hope you play along with this fun cross promo challenge!!

Now back to my card....I made this for Retro Sketch's Challenge which was any sketch of your choosing.
Then I saw that this week's challenge over at The Kraft Journal was also using any sketch so I combined the two challenge using this sketch.......

And came up with this card.........

Bummer though that the Retro Sketches challenge ended yesterday :(
Don't you hate when that happens??

TAWS Sneak Peek Day 2~ Words to Live By

It is Day 2 of our sneak peeks for the new

March stamps being released from 

The Alley Way Stamps

Today I am sharing a project using the new

Words to Live By

stamp set..

a GREAT set of words and sentiments perfect for mixing and matching with all your TAWS!
and here is what I made.....

I always like to have cards on hand that can be given for any occasions and this new stamp set was perfect for this card!! 
My card was very easy to do and the great thing about a design like this is you can mass produce and just change the sentiment. 
So for my card I used papers from Echo Park~Everyday Eclectic 6x6 paper pad, Kraft Cardstock and white cardstock. I layered the pattern paper on the white cardstock then ran a line of stitching around the outside.
Using some 3GJ crinkle ribbon in Cherry Lipstick, some Trendy Twine in Strawberry Cupcake

and a button from my stash  I tied a bow across the center over the spot where the pattern paper met the white cardstock.
Finally I stamped my sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Don't you just LOVE the font and size of the sentiment?? I know I do and see this as being a frequent sentiment being used in my cards :)

So there you have it...I hope you like my card!
