Thrifty Thursday.....w/MCT

Good morning everyone and welcome to another
My Creative Time's Thrifty Thursday.
A day set aside to share any type of project using our scraps/leftovers or recycling items as well as using My Creative Time stamps and dies!

I recently got back from camping with my son and his 5th grade class...well before I left I had a HUGE pile of scrap papers and die cuts from projects that I had completed that needed to be put away. Of course time got the best of me and I hadn't had time to organize it all until this week. I knew that there was something in that pile that would be perfect for my project but little did I know that EVERYTHING on my project would be made using that pile.
So anyways..here is what I came up with. Hope you like it!
I found this Cute Sailor Gable Box file in the Silhouette Store and added my own touches of MCT goodies to make this project. For starters, I hid the face that came with the file and added a sweet PKS face instead. Then for the actual box itself, I cut it out using grey cardstock and then stamped the background using the new Striped Background stamp in Iced Spruce Distress Ink.
The file came with a bottom strip that I changed out with the Make a Splash die! Don't you just love those pin point cuts in place of Emma's signature stitched lines? Finally I replaced the anchor from the original file and added my own using the small anchor die from  the Anchors & Heart Die set.
Once all the pieces were assembled and added to my gable box, I added my sentiment. Using a Stitched Oval Die piece that I had left over from another project, I stamped my sentiment using the new Hey Sailor stamp set. I attached the sentiment onto my gable box using a piece of In the Navy Trendy Twine.
I have to say I am pretty impressed with how this cutie turned out :)
