Hi everyone!!
I had some free time without the kiddo's around today to get some back to school crafting done.
Usually I have one or both kids asking for stamps to be printed to colored...or can we stamp with your stamps..or what can we make now. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE having them around when I am making cards and such but what could take me 2 hours from start to finish can take me all day :)
So anyways both boys had play dates today so I made a Back to School gift bag.
I made this bag with a few challenges is mind but it is not 100% complete. I am stuck as to what to put on the handles.
I am not good with tying bows so every ribbon I placed on the handles didn't look right....so HELP...suggestions welcomed please!
Ok so my bag was on I had laying around from the Dollar Store.
I used DCVW~Grade School Paper Stack as well as recollections primary color papers.
The apple was cut from Making the Grade Cartridge~one I have never used and one that is also retired. It was cut at 5 1/2" with both the shadow and top layer. I cut 2 additional apples to change the stem and leaf colors also.
I tried something new today...I used glitter and lots of it for the apple. I had never used glitter like this before and it was both messy and ended up all over the place. I used glue but I know I have read about people using their Xeron machine....mine is just not big enough so I did it the old fashion way!!
My worm is from Create a Critter and he is cut at 3 1/2". I hid the face so I could stamp a PK face on him. Way cute...don't you think?
Oh and the #1 Teacher is also from Making the Grade Cartridge.
So this gift bag is being entered into the following challenges:
Cropstop~ #32 Back to School
Creative Cutter Room~ Back to School
Throwback Thursday~My Creative Time~ #230 Retired Cartridge
Fantabulous Cricut~Challenge Me Monday~ Add a Bug

ReplyDeleteCute project.Try knotting a fairly wide ribbon and snip the ends at an angle. It gives the illusion of a bow without having to tie one.

I just love the bag.
WOW this is such a FUN project Jessica!!I LOVE your idea,SO COOL!!:)
ReplyDeleteI love this bag! That apple is the cutest thing... well, besides the worm, of course! :) I love to just add some twine or ribbon in a knot on handles. I'm not so great at tying bows either, but a knot is a bit easier. Great work!!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand Jessica! Love your bag though! Super cute! "My" day for Back to School stuff is tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteCute bag and a thoughtful project with emphasis on the #1 teacher title. ;-) I love the glitter work though I still have to try it. I just work with glitter glue but the work doesn't end up the way yours shines with the color red still visible. TFS! And continue enjoying and growin with the craft!
