Hi everyone...here is my post for today.
I made a birthday card for a friend today and I made it with my gypsy. What a cool gadget! The more I play with it the more I find out how cool it is and all the neat things it can do :)
So I went into our local Hobby Lobby today....my first time going...I didn't even know we had one...I usually shop at Michaels and ACMoore and was quite impressed with the assortment of scrapbooking items they had. Many different things than Michaels and ACMoore. I got the cupcake paper there and thought it would work perfectly with my mental picture of what I wanted to make.
How come when I have a mental picture of my card...I go to make it..and it never comes out how I originally pictured? It usually comes out better :) Does that happen to any of you?
How do you design your layout or cards? Draw it out? Cut pieces and play with the layout that way? Please let me know...I would love to know...I am currently struggling with this and any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
The angle of my card and the way my camera took the picture makes my card look cockeyed...its not :)

Hi Jessica! I'm Aymee from 'A Scraphappy Southernbelle' and I just wanted to stop by to say thanks for visiting my blog. I also wanted to return the favor and come see your blog. Your projects look great! I really like your cupcake card! Isn't Hobby Lobby great?! It's one of my favorite stores! You should check out their magazine too. It's near the registers and is only $1.99! It's called 'Stamping, Stationery, & Scrapbooking.' I say this because when I started out scrapping, I turned to this magazine many times. I liked it because it had more advanced, as well as easy, projects that I could use as inspiration or to scraplift when I started out. AND if you are game, you should submit some of your projects! I submit there every quarter and have been in the magazine a few times. They are always looking for new talent! You should give it a try! All the submission info is on the front inside cover of the magazine. I know you asked where we got our inspiration from, well that is one of my places. I also love to look at other magazines and books that you can find at any crafty store. Or blog hopping really inspires me. Oooh, and going to scrapbooking.com or twopeasinabucket.com....so much eye candy there! I hope this will help you out some! Keep scrappin'! You are doing a great job!

Love your card! I have the same issue! I know what I want to do but I have a hard time invisioning it all the time. I know a place that has helped me is www.splitcoaststamper.com. That hobby magazine sounds interesting to. Would love to read anymore comments you get on this. I am sure gonna be a follower of your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove your cupcake card! I have been scrapbooking for most of my life and I have been making cards for about 6 years. It started with my wedding invitations and evolved from there. I can't even tell you that I have one basic method for doing them. I make scrapbook pages then I use the scraps to make a lot of my cards. There are some really great layout magazines at the craft stores. One of my favorites that I used to buy was Papercrafts. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
