Happy Friday...Red Hatter's Blog Hop!

Happy Friday!

I am so exciting to be joining these wonderfully crafty ladies for the Red Hatter's Blog Hop. If you happened upon my blog and want to join in on the fun, hop over to the start... Dusti over at Scrappin with Cricut.

So I have to say I did not know what a Red Hatter was when I joined in. I did a little web seaching and friend asking and more web searching thanks to a site Dusti sent me and now I don't feel so young, left out  and alittle more informed. Part of joining in on these is to learn new things and I have definetly learned something new!

You probably want to see my project..right?!?

Here it is...I made a mini Hat Box with 4 mini "friend" cards





My project started with a 4" mini wood box. I painted the box with white acrylic paint and used fire brick distress ink on the top and sides. When all was dry I mod podged my sentiment and hat to the lid.

They as well as all the stamps came from Whimsy Doodle Graphics. How cute are they!?! I attached purple ribbon to the box and decorated with cooradinating paper. (I just realized I don't have a picture of the outer lid to show you..sorry)

For the cards I cut 4 circle cards at 3.75. I welded 2 together for each card and used the circle cut from George and Basic Shapes. Once I had all my cards cut out the fun began...decorating them :)
Part of the digi cuts from Whimsy Doodle Graphics was these cute ladies. I cut them out and colored over the purple which came out after I printed it a blue/purple. It didn't match any of my paper..nothing alittle marker couldn't fix :)
I had made some skittles not too long ago in watermelon and came across them again. They were used  as well as some basic purple ribbon. The second card is the flower cut from again Geoge and Basic Shapes in 3 different shapes. I stamped the red petals with a Stampin Up flower stamp..just to give it alittle more..

Theses notes are cut the same size as the others with again matching papers. The flowers are Prima flowers with a sparkly red brad attached in the middle. Finally the red hat is a cut from PDDU. I just attached the ribbon and a purple button.

Inside each card is a different sentiment stamped. They say..Always Friends, Thinking of You, Just Because and Hello Friend.

So this is my project. I hope you all liked my interpritation of the Red Hatter's. I had a blast making this and hoped you all enjoyed seeing my pictures.

Now for alittle blog candy...we all love candy right?!?!

I have a pack of recollection paper in pastels and 3 sets of Prima flowers. All springy because "Spring" has almost sprung and I can't wait!

What's the Word, Bird

Morning all! A quick welcome to all my new followers. I love waking up in the morning to see new faces following me. I also LOVE reading your comments so please keep them coming :)

This is going to be another quick post. I am busy working on my project for the Red Hatter's Blog Hop that starts tomorrow. I hope you all join in the fun. I know there are going to be lots of giveaways :)

I just got the Give a Hoot cartridge the other day and a I-rock so I wanted to give them a try. Make something for any occasion.
There are so many cute cuts on this cartridge. I wanted to try them all!!

Spring is on my mind...in a TALL way :)

Good Morning fellow bloggers. I am feeling up to the challenge...to make a card for more than one challenge. After blog hopping last night and this morning I found my one card I made can be entered into 8...yes 8challenges. That is the most I have done with one card since I started blogging 2 months ago. Happy Happy Joy Joy :)

Here is it! I made a Tall card...my first ever! The card base measures 9X4 and can fit into a #10 envelope. How much fun is that?!?!
Anyways I was at Michaels...surprise, surprise (my home away from home) when I found a package of Tim Holtz fragments. They were on clearance so I bought them :) I didn't know what to do with them so I went to Tim's website to watch a tutorial on these so cute clear tiles. He being the master (right!?!?) of all things altered took scraps and attached them to these tiles. I then knew what I was going to do with them. I went through my scrap container and pulled out my springy paper. What a great way to use up those little pieces of scrap. I usually just give my too small pieces to my boys so they can cut and paste and make things. I attached my scraps with glossy accents and tada this is how they came out!!
The spring cutout is from Stretch your Imagination cartridge. I cut this out and cut off the spring flowers that are attached to this cut. Instead of the dotted "i" I put a button.
I scalloped the purple paper using my corner rounder with the guide removed (another tutorial idea). With alittle stitching aound the spring sentiment and circle and my card was finished.

Happy Birthday Old Bird....and ...I WON!

I'm sorry for this quick post but I have been so busy. I have a sick kiddo home so between doctors appoinments and running errands today I have had little time for crafting. Plus I am planning my project for the upcoming Red Hatter's Blog Hop that I'm participating in this weekend.

Here is my card for today. Something simple.

As I was blog hopping today I found out I won over at Pretty Little Paper Love for the TPV blog hop. How much fun is that! Can't wait to get my prize :) A 7gypsies Printer Tray!!
What should I do with it?

Here is my card of the day. I went to Michaels yesterday and found this really cute stamp set from Stampendous! It is Changito's Birthday.  So cute!

We have a good friend who's son is turning 5 on Thursday and I thought I would get a head start on his card. This is what I came up with. I love, love, love the monkey! He is just too cute :) I colored the stamp with my bic markers and attached some buttons. A fast and cute card for the birthday boy!

We had the 1st of 2 basketball parties today and this is the other basketball card I made for our coaches (yesterday's post shows another card)
I first want to say a BIG thanks to Dana over at Imagine What  You Could Do. I won some candy and it came in the mail yesterday...stamps!!! One of the stamp sets I used to make this card... A nice big Thank You. So here is my super cute basketball player! This was one of bugaboo stamps free digi download. How cute is he!

Basketball Season is over for us :(

Today was our last basketball game of the season. I could not get over how great both of my boys teams were. They played well both individually and as a team. I am really going to miss basketball but there is always next year!
I made this card for one of the coaches and I will make 2 other probablly similar for their party. I found this super cute digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps.com. I paid for this one but they have a free digi download here. I colored him with my bic markers.
I like the simple-ness (is that a word?) of this card. Hope you do also.
