Whimsical Wednesday Challenge #22~~ "Scrapping School Memories"

Good Morning Everyone!
It is time for another Whimsical Wednesday Challenge!!

This weeks challenge is " Scrapping School Memories"~
Create a scrapbook LO with a school theme BUT it must include a chipboard element.
The Design Team was lucky enough to be given a few files from Regina over at The Cutting Cafe to work with. Thanks Regina!!
Regina is also our sponsor this week and the lucky winner will receive Any 3 Files from her store!
If you have yet to visit The Cutting Cafe you really need to hop over there. She has just about everything you could possibly want....cut files, PDF files, boxes, bags...well you get the idea!

Oh so my project for this challenge was made and then I added the pictures when my boys went to school yesterday for their first day.
It was great to have the LO completed and then know what pictures I had to take :)
Here is my completed LO....There are few items I create that I say "Wow, I really love this....this is one of them!! I love how this turned out!!

Here is the LO before I put pictures in and added the year with white chipboard numbers

I don't have very many chipboard pieces in my stash so I decided to make my own!
The bus numbers~which is actually my boys school bus is from numbers I picked up last year at Target.
They sure came in handy!!
The "Waiting for the Bus" is The Cutting Cafe~The School Years Printable Stamp Set
I printed and cut the stamp out then attached to a piece of inked chipboard and matted it on blue cardstock.
The same was done with "1st day of School"
You cant tell but it really gives great dimension!
Love the little boy~ He is from Paper Doll Dress Up and I used PKS~491 Everyday Character Faces

Again used the same technique and made my own chipboard pieces from the same set over at
The border is another set from The Cutting Cafe~School Day's Printable Set.

The extras added to this LO are:
Trendy Twine in Peppermint Twist
School Bus cut from Stretch Your Imagination at 3 1/2"
Yoyo Yellow ink from SU
White gel pen for extra doodles :)
Border punch from EK Sucess
Paper from DCWV~ The Grade School Stack

So I hope you like my LO and will join us this week over at Whimsical Wednesdays!!
Remember you have 2 weeks to link up for a chance to win 3 Files from The Cutting Cafe!
Can't wait to see what you all create and thanks for stopping by!!

"Your one in a Melon"

Good Morning Bloggers!

It is a beautiful day here and I hoping to take the kids swimming :)
But I wanted to share a card I made for the BBTB2 Watermelon Challenge and Peachy Keen Sketch Challenge.
For whatever reason I am having the hardest time uploading pictures....anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure if it is my computer or blogger issues again :(

Yahoooo....my picture uploaded!
Using the sketch I came up with this.

The paper is a new stack I picked up from DCWV~ The Playtime Stack.
I used the Stretch your Imagination Cartridge for the watermelon cut at 1".
I hid the face and stamped a cute one with my Peachy Keen~Simple Sallies.
I computer generated the sentiment and printed it on white cardstock after I stamped the little leaves using a Stampin' Up stamp and olive green ink.
I popped the cut scallop up (used SCAL) and popped the watermelon up as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have a GREAT day :)

Is it Spring Yet?

As I was making my card today...thinking about how nice the weather was going to be (34 is better than 20...LOL) I looked outside and it was snowing! I new that this Spring Card was the closest I was getting to flowers for a while :(
It seems that I'm having an off crafting day...I cant get my colors to work...my designs are not what I wanted and my camera wasnt taking good pictures...so what you see is my "wanting it to be spring card, on my off crafting day"
Maybe tomorrow will be better...I am stepping away for a while and maybe will be back later!

I am entering this in the following Challenges:
365 Cards: Day 2- Pick 5

So today I was inspired to create a card based on a picture I took from my window. The cardinal just looked so peaceful and beautiful. Here is what I came up with. I think it came out pretty good!
After trying to get my cricut to cut the tree (from Stretch your Imagination) without pulling up the paper I was finally able to get it to work. I cut the tree at 5 1/2 and tada...this is what I got. The red bird actually was cut from the Pagoda Cartridge and that was cut at 1/2 inch. Not a cardinal but the effect was there.
