Here is the card I made using this beautiful set!
To make my card I started with a kraft cardstock base, added a layer of white cardstock and then die cut the mat using the largest of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Die. For the designer paper I used a new paper pad I picked up from My Minds Eye~Fancy That. I grabbed the new Stitched Postage Frame Dies to add another layer to my card base as well as to add my sentiment and die cut feathers from the Believe in your Dreams set. Some gold thread bunched behind the feathers and some random gold enamel dots finish off my card!

So what do you think????? Want to see more projects?
Make sure you head on over to My Creative Time to see what the rest of the DT made!
I know the inspiration is AWESOME!!!!

MCT Tutorial Thursday.....{Making Your Own Stencils using Dies}

Good Morning everyone and welcome to a new feature on the My Creative Time blog!
This one is Tutorial Thursday~ where the DT will share video or written tutorials using MCT stamps and dies!
Remember this card I made for the "Trending Now~Stencil it" post? Well I had some questions regarding how I made my stencil so I thought I would share a very easy written tutorial and another card using a homemade stencil.
Here is the new card I made using some of the newest releases......
Gold is HOT right now and I just LOVE the new sentiment from the You're My Hero Stamp set so I made a new stencil using 2 of the new star dies and did some heat embossing too.
Here is how I did this...
I start out with a piece of acetate that I get at the Office Supply store. I actually go to the copy department and buy the sheets individually, they maybe cost $0.20 each...really cheap. I cut a piece down to about 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 so it can easily be placed over a standard A2 size card. Next I pulled out 2 of the new Bunch of Stitched Stars dies and arranged them onto my acetate. Making no specific pattern I die cut the stars and repeat until I get the pattern I want.

Here you can see my acetate laying on top of my card mat. Since the mat is the smallest of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies, you can see that the stencil lays over the actual cardstock. That is fine, I can save this stencil and use it over and over again :) Next I taped the stencil down over my cardstock to begin the inking and embossing part. Using my Versamark ink I tapped it on top of the stencil making sure to really cover the entire open stencil part. Since the ink will rub of the stencil I didnt worry about ruining that...I just wanted the best coverage for my embossing. Next I pulled the stencil off and covered the cardstock with some gold embossing powder. Heated it up and I have a beautiful embossed background using MCT dies!

Next for the sentiment, I used the circle cut out from the Surprise Pop-Out Card Die to stamp my sentiment onto. Now for this part I have had some questions about this too...adding thread to cards. Here is what the backside of my thread nest looks like. Nothing pretty but flip it over and it adds so much added details to a card :)

Today the DT will be showcasing projects using the new set~
Circle Stitched Pattern Die
Since St. Patty's day is tomorrow I thought I would make a CAS card for today's project. I used the new Circle Stitching Pattern Dies as a border and then die cut the adorable shamrock to pop up as my "pop of color" Before adhering it to my card front, I did stamp my sentiment and then pulled out some gold thread to add behind the shamrock. Then I popped it up onto the card front using some fun foam. I thought it still needed something more so I randomly placed some matching green and gold sequins on. The whole card front was then popped up onto the kraft card base using more fun foam.

The sale will end on February 28th, 2015 @ 12:00am PST!

Here is the card I made to share for today.... I am in need of some masculine cards and thought this one would be perfect!
My friend Amy of Tsurata Designs posted this card last week and I was inspired by her card design for mine. To put together my card, I used the Stitched Rectangular Frame Die for the card mat, cutting one in the designer star pattern paper and a smaller piece using the matching mustard color paper. I layered the pieces together and then stamped my sentiment from the Fun Variety on the Inside & Out stamp set. Next I used the matching die to the speech bubble sentiment and stamped it using memento tuxedo black ink.

Before adding the "Yay" speech bubble to my card, I added some of the "newest trendy" in card making~ some gold thread behind it in a random nest :) It is adhered to the card using some foam tape and then for some added reinforcement, I placed some white enamel dots on it.
This card was both so much fun to make and very easy to put together. I will be using this card LO again for more projects. I LOVE the way this turned out!
