~~" Enjoy the Simple Things in Life"~~

Go Morning Everyone!
I want to say thanks to everyone so far who has entered my 300 Follower Giveaway. If you haven't yet you have until next Friday 6/17/11 to enter.
~~IF~~ I get 30 more followers~hit 350 I will add to this giveaway. Yummy!!

So before I show you my card for today's post I want to share some GREAT news!
Yesterday my son's baseball team~The Nationals had a game. They play so well together but have only won 1 game and have lost the other 4. The kids are so fine with not winning (even though they want to) what makes it great is they are such a great bunch of kids. Very encouraging and always complementing each other on a job well done.
So last night before the game my son tells me he is going to hit the ball (they use a machine and it is his first year on the machine) and catch the ball in outfield.
I said great..go for it!
Well wouldn't you know he did hit the ball...a GREAT hit non the less. But wait it gets better!
He is playing 2nd base and wouldn't you know a fly ball comes his way....the bases are loaded and the other team has 2 outs. They are also up by a run. We all watch the ball as my son not only catches it...tags the runner coming to second with the ball and tags the base getting the player on second going to third out also.
~~A TRIPLE PLAY~~
We are all screaming...I have tears in my eyes..it was the most exciting minute of baseball their team has had.
To make it even better the coach comes running out, picks him up and twirls him around... all the while his entire team circles him and high fives him.
It was truly an amazing moment for him and such a proud moment for us!
And yes they ended up winning 9-4 :)

More good news....my Memorial Day card I made for the Kraft Journal was chosen as a top 3 challenge winner...Woo Hoo!!

Ok so now onto my card for today.
I made this card for the Papercraft Star Challenge #49- Sketch

I used kraft cardstock for the base and Jillibean Soup Pattern Paper. The Flowers are from the Paisly Cartridge and they are cut at 2.5"
The sentiment is from My Creative Time~This & That set.
I used my white gel pen for some details around the flower petals
Memento ink in rich cocoa for the sentiment and Tim Holtz distress ink in peeled paint for some sponging around the pattern paper and flower petals
Also added are some pop dots to the sentiment to give it some wave.

I hope you like my card!
Thanks for stopping by and see you all later!

Another Post :)

I love to read...unfortunatly my kids would rather play than pick up a good book. Every night we have to read for school with both the boys. Finding a book that my 4th grader is interested in and wants to finish has been a struggle...until now. We just started reading, altogether, "39 Clues". I am not sure how many there are in the series but we are on chapter 3 in the 1st book. The great thing is, he is LOVING the book. Both the story and reading it to me and his brother.
So I made my son a bookmark for his book and will also enter this into the following challenges:
Cricut Cardz Challenge #64- Bookmark
Karens-Kakes-Krafts- Un-Do Challenge

Until tomorrow...

It's Your Birthday!

Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! I can't believe that the day is almost over and we are almost to hump day!

My son's birthday is on Sunday and I originally made the Robot card for him that I posted last week. I showed it to him when I finished it and he loved it...but said "now I saw my card, it wont be a surprise". Guess what..another excuse to make another card. Here is it! I'm not telling him and he will get it on his birthday!

I have posted about how I am a BIG bargain shopper so this is one of my bargains...the paper is K&Company Spaghetti Designer Paper Pack. I picked this up at Target on clearance for $1.99. Then the matching stickers I got for $0.62! Nothing like a GREAT deal!

My card for today is a pocket/tag card. The pocket is 4 x 5 sealed on 3 sides. The tag was cut from George and Basic at 2 1/2. "Smile" is cut from the Paisley cartridge (p36) at 1" and the Frog also from the same page was cut at 2 1/2.

I am entering these for the following challenges:
Claudia & Company- Challenge #76 Recipe
Two Scraptastic Gals-CCCC #7 Paisley Cartidge

CropStop: Challenge #2-Add Some Stickles

So this is the card that I am sending over for CropStop: Challenge Add some Stickles. This is my first time using stickles..

I wanted to make this kitty for some time now so here it is. And she is stickles up on her collar, pillow and tiera.
She was cut at 3 1/2 and the X0's were cut at 1. Both from the Paisley cartridge.
Hope you like this

Also entered this at My Sheri Crafts Challenge #40-Blings

This is my card for today's post. I had a GREAT day...got a Stylish award from Kristen @ craftin’withkristen and a Challenge top 3 button from Claudia & Company. Whoo Hoo (get it..matches my card..sorry :)) for a great day.
Anyways this is what I came up with for BBTB2's
birthday bash...bird or armadillo challenge. Since I dont own the Birthday Bash cartridge I used the owl from Paisley and I cut it at 3 1/2. I found the stamp in the dollar bin at Michaels.(another great bargain :)) and the tree branch is from the Pagoda Cartridge. That was cut at 4".
I had a "Hoot" of a time with this card (another bad joke..heheheh).
Hope you like this :)

I just made this for Claudia & Company: Challange #70-Shape It UP!
The challange was to create something without using squares and rectangles. Thought this was a cute cut!
I cute this using my paisley cartridge.
