Gone Fishing!.....Scrapping the Little Things w/My Creative Time!

Good Morning and Welcome to another Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time
Before I share my PL cards I just want to apologize for not being around all last week. I was home in bed with pneumonia :( My oldest has been sick since before the 4th of July with pneumonia and just finished his second round of antibiotics. Then my youngest got an ear infection. Well 2 rounds of antibiotics for him as well so you know I was bound to get something from those kiddos. All last weekend I was feeling worse and worse and Monday morning it hit me hard. Off to the Dr's, a chest xray later to confirm and home to bed for the week. I did manage to make it to my son's All Star game but even sitting out in the fresh air wore me out. I am happy to say (even with this annoying cough still) I am feeling better and got in a weekend of baseball too!

Now onto my PL cards...
My kiddos are so lucky to have inlaws that have a summer home on the lake. We try so hard to make it down there are much as possible and when we do go, the boys spend HOURS fishing both on the dock and in the boat with my father in law. When Emma released those adorable new fishy stamps and dies, I knew I had to scrap some of my favorite pics of the boys fishing!
These pictures were taken last summer (I know I am WAY behind in my picture scrapping..LOL) I used the Stitched Journal Die for the 3x4 pic and shaker and the larger 4X6 Journal Die for the larger pic.
The sentiments on the smaller picture was stamped from the set~Find Joy in the Little Things on one of the tags from the Fun Stitched Tag Dies set. The larger sentiment, from the same above set was stamped onto the banner from the Vintage Stitched Label Die. I did embellish that further by adding some silver thread behind the sentiment. Kinda looks like fishing line doesnt it?
For the final 3x4 pocket, I made a fish bowl shaker. I stamped, die cut and colored the adorable goldfish and placed him inside the pocket with some blue sequins, a colored plant and then added a layer of vellum to the top.

Anchors Away! w/Trendy Twine

Good Morning everyone!
It is my DT day to share a project on the Trendy Twine Blog!

Each month the DT has been showcasing one of our gorgeous twine colors along with a packaging item. This month the Trendy Gals have been spotlighting a must have summer twine color~ Nautical along with the Medium Candy Bags.

For those of you who love to make treats then make sure to stop on by the Trendy Twine store to grab some of these candy bags. There are so many projects you can use them for and people LOVE to receive some decorated treats!!
Since making treats is one of my FAVORITE things to do, I have a sweet idea to share that is super easy to replicate...Lets take a look!
I usually make these treats using the Medium Candy Bags and add a cute tag to the top. For my project today I wanted to change it up a bit to show you another way to decorate these. Since we are sharing beach themed projects, I knew the adorable anchor and sentiment from My Creative Time would be a perfect compliment.
To make my treat, I grabbed some Hershey Chocolate Nuggets and wrapped them in pattern paper from My Minds Eye~ Now and Then collection. Next I cut a piece of navy cardstock to slip into the Medium Candy Bag and to hold my chocolate nuggets in place. I was able to fit 6 in there perfectly!
After die cutting my anchor and tag, stamping my sentiment, I took my Nautical Trendy Twine and wrapped it around the Medium Candy Bag 2 times. Attached my anchor and tag to the twine then tied it all together with a bow.
Don't you think these would make fun beach party favors or a cruise night treat?

Here is what I used from Annie's Paper Boutique

Find Joy in the Little Things
  along with the AWESOME

stamp and die set
Making treats has got to be one of the things I LOVE to do best with My Creative Time Stamps and dies!!! My youngest is a HUGE fan of these fishy treats so I usually have a bag around the house at all times. Then I saw these 2 sets, I knew they would make for some sweet treats!
To make my treat I used a medium candy bag from Trendy Twine and filled it with a backing of designer paper and some yummy fishy treats!
Next I went about putting my tag together. One of the MUST have dies from MCT is the Just Tags set and I die cut the bottom layer with the matching inside designer paper. I die cut the top layer with white cardstock as well as some additional designer paper that I ended up using the wave die border on. I stamped the sentiment from this releases FREEBIE set~ Find Joy in the Little Things onto the wave border piece and adhered it to the tag top.
I used the adorable bubble stamp and added that to the white cardstock, colored it in with some Wink of Stella and glossy accents and placed it aside to dry.
I stamped my fishy onto red designer paper, die cut him out as well as stamped and die cut the hook using kraft cardstock. I popped the fishy up above the hook which I glued onto my tag at a slant.
To finish my project up, I added some matching Peppermint Icicle Trendy Twine through the tag to attach it to my candy bag.

To put my card together, I used the adorable new fish from the You're a Great Catch set and stamped and die cut them out using some fun orange pattern paper.  Next I found some blue pattern paper from the same My Minds Eye~Happy Day paper pad and die cut waves into the middle part. Those waves are one of 2 new dies from this same set! I stamped my sentiment and those adorable bubbles onto the card and then placed the goldfish partway in the waves...popping their heads up with some small foam dots.
To finish my card off, I colored in each of the bubbles with my Wink of Stella pen and then added some glossy accents. Mounted the card mat on some kraft cardstock and then the whole card front onto my white card base.

MCT 45th New Release Sneak Day 2

Morning everyone and welcome to Day 2 of sneaks for the
45th New Release from My Creative Time!
What did you think of yesterday's sneaks??? So fun right???
So for today the DT will be showcasing the new set~
My Thoughts are with You
Sympathy cards are so hard to make and Emma made another beautiful set of stamps and dies to mix and match with already great products available. For my card, I used one of the new sentiments for my monochromatic card.
I used some beautiful ombre ink and the Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background for the card mat. Next I stamped the new sentiment onto the bottom on my card. I die cut the mat using the largest Stitched Rectangular Frame Die and matted it to a piece of navy cardstock.
To finish my card off, I die cut 2 different sized butterflies and popped them up onto the front of my card.
I didn't add any additional embellishments, keeping the focus on the sentiment and the beautiful butterflies.

I did make another project using the adorable Mason Jar die that also comes in this set.
I turned these cuties into mini tags which would look perfect on homemade canning jars. I do not can anything (wish I did AND could find the time to do so as well) I die cut for each tag 2 times...once for the top layer which I did my stamping on and once for the bottom layer which opens like a card to write a message inside.
I added some thin hemp twine to each of the jars and then made some small holes in the corner to add some more hemp twine to hang the tags with.

MCT 45th New Release Sneak Day 1

Morning everyone and welcome to Day 1 of sneaks for the
45th New Release from My Creative Time!
Today the DT will be showcasing the new and totally FUN set~
Stitched Starburst Dies
I LOVE making shaker cards and when I saw these new dies, that is the first thing that came to mind :)
I used 3 of the new Stitched Starburst Dies to make my shaker embellishment, piecing them together on some acetate. I did die cut the center starburst using a circle die from the Bunch of Stitched Circle Die set.
After filling the starburst with coordinating sequins I closed the shaker up and went about putting the rest of my card together. I was going for a CAS look with some sparkle so I used strips of black cardstock and added Wink of Stella shimmer to them. For the sentiment, I did the same thing with the Wink of Stella after die cutting the "thanks" sentiment". To finish my card up, I added some random matching sequins along side the card front.

Using 2 of the sentiments from this stamp set, I made a sweet baby card......
That little elephant is just so super sweet and I thought matching it with the sentiment would make a cute baby card. I used the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies for the mat and smaller mat piece then stamped the elephant onto one of the Stitched Doily Dies.
I colored the elephant with my copic markers and added some Wink of Stella to his ears and feet.
I finished my card off by stamping the sentiment onto the card mat and tying some Dark Citrus Trendy Twine around the top in a simple bow. The entire card mat was popped up onto the card base using a piece of Fun Foam for some added extra dimension.

MCT Designer's Challenge....HB2U!

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another

~ Please use either the "photo inspiration" or the "Sketch" OR you are more than welcome to use BOTH to create a project of YOUR CHOICE! ;)

~ Link your projects up to the Mr. Linky on the MCT Blog HERE

For my inspiration, I used both the sketch and photo to make a birthday card for my nephew.
I just love making shaker cards and since this is for my now 5 year old nephew, I thought he would get a kick out of this :)
I used my favorite card mat die~ the large Stitched Rectangular Frame Die and added some extra detail by stamping the Grainy Wood Background onto it.  Next for the shaker window, I used the frame from the 4X4 Journal Die set and altered it alittle by trimming the bottom off. Next I stamped my sentiment onto the cardstock that would be placed inside the shaker, added my sequins and sealed up the whole embellishment.
Finally I die cut some balloons using pattern paper and the Stitched Party Dies and popped them onto the front of my frame using some foam pop dots. Some hemp twine for the strings finishes up my card.
