Christmas Side Spring Card

Hi everyone!!
I have a new card technique that I saw on Splitcoaststamper called the Side Spring Card
This was very easy to do once I got all the folding down :)
I decorated my card with Fiskars What a Hoot Christmas stamp for the trees
I paper pieced them using PTI cardstock in New Leaf and Scarlet Jewel
For my glitter I used yellow stickles
For the circle sentiment I used MCT~ All around Christmas stamp set and heat embossed that
A simple two button center tied with cappuccino Twinery Twine finished it off
I also used MCT scalloped dies for that.
The inside of the card is stamped with MCT~ "Happy Holiday's" which I also heat embossed.

This is such a fun and different kind of card and I can see making more of these!

A Simple Birthday Card

Hi everyone!

I didn't get much in the way of crafting done today...it was so beautiful here that I spent the day outside getting the laundry list of things done before the snow begins to fall which could be tomorrow for all I know.
(I hope not...nit quite ready yet!)

Anyways I have a pretty busy week coming up...my 10 year old is going in for surgery on Thursday to have his tonsils and adenoids removed so I have to make sure everything here is done so I can devote all my attention onto him.

I have a PTO meeting tomorrow night and I volunteered to be the staff card maker this year :)
Actually they usually just buy cards but this year I will be making them....all 100 plus of them.
Unfortunately we decided at the last meeting to play catch up so I have been busy going through my stash of already made cards and coming up with all but 10. Not bad!
I just thought I had so many more birthday cards....guess that will be my card focus for a while :)
Anyways here is my quick and simple card using all scraps
I used a Martha Steward punch and a piece of scrap DP .
All the edges were inked with coffee bean pigment ink and
the sentiment is one of my dollar finds.

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by and I will see you all tomorrow!!

Post #2 "Harry Potter Birthday Card~CAS"

Hi again!
Here is my second card for today~ a birthday card for a 9 year who is a HUGE Harry Potter fan!
When I say HUGE I mean bigger than Huge....he knows everything there is to know about Harry, has read all the books and if he could be a wizard he would be :)
If you have followed my blog for a while this is the same little boy who I made the journal for back in July.
You can see that post here.
So here is my CAS card for Evan~
I used a kraft card base
Bugaboo~ Har Repotter "The Chosen One" image
I colored him with my copics and added some Creative Inspiration Paints in Antique Silver to his cape and wand. The picture does not really show it well but there is that extra sparkle!
I also added Winter Frost paint to the stars to look like they are shining.
The image is matted on maroon card stock
I twisted peppermint trendy twine in a bow and added a metal birthday cake charm.
The sentiment is a dollar bin find from Studio G.

Cutting' Up with Class~ Challenge #4 Boo Door Hanger

Hi everyone!
I have been MIA from posting for a few days due to a very bad head/chest cold :(
I was in bed sleeping which has been the best thing for me and I am slowly getting back to functionable.
I did have this door hanger project on my desk since Tuesday waiting to be worked on and have just gotten enough energy to finish and post it for the Cutting Up With Class challenge
For this challenge I chose "Trick" and I received this adorable SVG file.
Everything I used is from my scrap pile...I am trying to use up all this extra Halloween paper before I move onto thanksgiving and Christmas cards.
So the door hanger, the "boo to you" and the poem all came in the file
I just added my own embellishments~buttons with twine and eye's
and the Martha Steward border punch.
I think it turned out pretty cute :)

This to That Challenge #10~ Anything Goes w/ Twine

Morning Everyone!!

It is time for another This to That Challenge over at

This weeks challenge is
Anything Goes with a Twist~
You must use some Twine
The Digi Bistro DT was very lucky to have received some Twinery Twine to use for our projects
so thanks Twinery!! I love your twine!!

Here is my card

"Whoo" thinks this is too cute?!

I just love the new owl that is on the Autumn Harvest file which should be in The Digi Bistro store really soon!
So I used that adorable owl and cut him out and all his layers at 3"
The DP is from Cosmo Cricket~Social Stack.  I won this stack a while back and have yet to dive into the beautiful papers. Love it!!
I inked the edges and attached the owl with foam dots.
On my card base I stamped my sentiment using a dollar find from I believe Michael's
I attached some simple matching buttons and added Cappuccino Twine to each one.
My owl was missing something so I used a tag from the Tag It! file...
I welded 2 together so the punch out was on either side (I did use my hole punch to make it bigger for the eyelets)
I also stamped this with a dollar stamp find and again attached it with Cappuccino Twine so it looked like my owl was holding a sign.

So I hope you like my card and will join us this week!

Here is my take on that sketch
My card base is from Stretch Your Imagination
The Paper is from Bo Bunny
I used George and Basic Shapes for the circle and rectangle cuts
That adorable monster is from Mini Monsters
I attached googly eyes and put him on an action wobble...to cute to spook for sure :)
For my sentiment I used some metal letters I had in my stash and hot glue gunned them in place
All the edges were inked with Tim Holtz ink.
For the inside (since this is double sided paper) I cut the card base slightly smaller in white and attached it.
That way I can write my message inside.

Candy Corn Treat Box Tutorial~ As Seen on Ribbon's and Button's Blog Hop

Hi everyone!

I wanted to thank everyone who stopped by my blog yesterday and left me such sweet messages regarding all 4 of my projects. I loved being a part of this hop and sharing Julie's Crinkle Ribbon and helping her promote her new venture 3 Girl Jam.
To see my original post with this project click here.
There is a giveaway on my blog that you will want to enter....the chance to win any 2 bundles of ribbon!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got tons of emails and messages regarding my candy corn treat containers so I thought I would share a picture tutorial on how to make these very simple treats!
Tools needed:
ScoreBoard
Ribbon
Orange, White and Yellow Cardstock
ATG Gun or sticky adhesive
( Picture Heavy so please bear with me)
Cut your orange cardstock to 8 1/2 x 3 1/2
score in the middle of the long side at 4 1/4
cut 2 pieces of yellow and white cardstock~ both at 3 1/2 x 1 3/8
you want to add a small mark at 1 3/4 on both the top and the bottom so you have a marker to score diagonally to each outer side. You are making a triangle with the point on top at both ends
attach your yellow cardstock pieces right slightly from the center score line on each half.
you want the white cardsotck at the top of both halves (as seen in the picture)
Using the score lines you already made on the orange cardstock...refold those lines adding the score lines to the additional yellow and white cardstock.
You also want to punch holes....centered between the edge and the triangle point.
To make this easier..fold the cardstock in half and punch both sides at once
You are ready to add your ribbon! 3 Girl Jam ribbon works awesome!!
I measured an 8 inch piece..you could go more if you want more ribbon hanging
These are going to 3rd graders who I know just want the treats inside :)
Then tie away...that's it easy easy easy!
All that is left to do is embellish the outside
I used My Creative Time circle die and All Around Halloween Stamp
Then just added a candy corn sticker from Martha Stewart to the center
Pretty easy when you see it laid out like this. I have been making them while watching TV at nights.Makes the time go fast and before you know it they are all done!
If you have any other questions just leave me a comment or email me at
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you give this a try.
Let me know if you do...I would love to see how you embellish it!
D2D~ Hope Butterfly
Julie sent me 2 bundles of ribbon to play with
I received the Harvest Bundle and Winter Bundle
I couldn't only use one color and share only 1 project so I made 4 projects....each on using a different color :)
Here are all 4 projects...2 Halloween and 2 Christmas projects
My first project is using the Sunflower Ribbon. These Candy Corn treat containers I made for my son's 3rd grade class. Each one (all 20 I made) are filled with some mini suckers and these adorable ghost and bat erasers I picked up at Target. The sentiment is from My Creative Time~All Around Halloween. I used the circle die and attached it to the treat container using Foam Tape. The sticker candy corn is from Martha Stewart.
My next project is actually scrap lifted from my DT sister over at The Digi Bistro~ Monica from
 Simply Cricutting. She posted a video tutorial on making this and these were made for my older son's 5th grade class.
This treat box is all tied together with the Harvest Orange ribbon.
The pumpkin cut is from The Digi Bistro~Halloween Town SVG. I stamped the face with PKS~Pumpkin Trio. The paper is from DCWV and the tag is again cut from My Creative Time circle die and stamped with a misc to and from stamp from my stash
Now onto my Christmas projects. I wanted something clean and simple and  something to highlight the ribbon.
This card features the Holly Berry ribbon. My card was put together with a sticker from EAD, the ribbon to make it look like it is hanging, a simple gold brad and the "Merry Christmas" heat embossed in gold.
I am so excited about the way this came out that I made 2 more using the other stickers in the set.
My final card is using the Mistletoe ribbon. I used all scraps for this card, cutting the holly leaf from the Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge. The sentiment is from BugBites~ Mistletoe Stamp set. I added a button from my stash and some Trendy Twine in peppermint stick.
I know this is a lengthy post with lots of pictures but I can not talk enough about this beautiful ribbon!
